These two are undoubtedly the best teams in the bracket right now and they have been flawless since the start of the tournament.

One of them will be relinquishing their perfect record, though, and the purpose of this post is to try and figure out how the upcoming derby will pan out.

I first take a look at the current odds and then lay out an overview of the teams’ recent form.

They clinched the DreamHack Open title and strung together a good run at the ESL One: Cologne right until they had to face Evil Geniuses in the semi-finals.

Their ESL Pro League campaign is on right track as well with three wins out of three so far.

The team will take confidence from the fact that they absolutely destroyed Team Liquid in the last round, limiting Stewie2K and his squad to just eight rounds on both Nuke and Vertigo.

This was exactly what the doctor prescribed for FURIA and it could well be the needed springboard for them to once again find a higher gear and try to recapture the top ranking spot in the division.

What can we say about this Evil Geniuses team?

These guys have totally re-shaped the NA bracket and they don’t look like they’ll be slowing down any time soon.

They have won three tournaments in a row and are currently sitting on a fourteen-game winning streak and what is more impressive is that they last lost a map in a Best of 3 game way back in June.

Things have finally clicked for this roster and everyone is contributing to what is quickly becoming one of the deadliest squads on the professional CS:GO scene.

Captain stanislaw is looking more and more assured in his in-game leadership abilities and main gunmen CeRq, Brehze, and Ethan are simply unplayable at the moment.

I have no reason to believe that these guys will have an off day against what has been a very comfortable opponent for them in the past so we might be looking at yet another quick kill here.

It’s really hard to bet against Evil Geniuses right now and I doubt that FURIA will be the team to stop their run.

Even when the Brazilians were in top form, facing EG was never an easy outing for them and a quick look at the head-to-head record confirms this.

The Geniuses have won twenty-one maps to FURIA’s five and the latest outing between the two was another controlled performance from the Americans on Nuke and Vertigo.

Given the historical advantage and the form the favorites are in right now, I just can’t look past the handicap market and all things considered, the price of +142 makes this a great value bet.
