Fulham vs. Tottenham Hotspur – EPL, March 4, 2021

After looking like dead certs for the drop for most of the season, Fulham now has Newcastle in its sights and could well climb out of the bottom three soon.

But Spurs has had a good week of soccer after a sticky patch of form and will be looking to reignite its own European dreams with a win at Craven Cottage on Thursday.

Fulham vs. Tottenham Hotspur Odds

Tottenham Hotspur to Win-105

Tottenham had been losing more than it won in 2021, but the last week has seen Jose Mourinho’s side score four in the Europa League and then again against Burnley on Sunday. That probably justifies the favorite tag from the oddsmakers, but Fulham will be really up for this one – and that makes the draw bet attractive as well, in my opinion.

Fulham vs. Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview

Fulham hasn’t been out of the bottom three in the EPL since the end of November. But since then, there has been a vast improvement from Scott Parker’s team. Too many games have been drawn, though – and that’s why the club still faces a long relegation battle. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Newcastle sits just above the Cottagers in the league table and would seem to be the side that is in more danger of the drop at the moment. Fulham’s problem has been scoring goals, with only West Brom and Sheffield United managing fewer. But the likes of Ademola Lookman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek might be able to help with that over the next few months.

The problem for Scott Parker on Thursday will be if his attacking players get enough of the ball. Spurs has its own very talented group of goal scorers that have all been getting a lot of practice recently. Even Gareth Bale, who Mourinho had seemed to think was not ready to be playing regularly, has found the net in European competition and the EPL.

Although Burnley hardly put up much of a fight at the weekend, it was very noticeable how well the Spurs front four of Bale, Kane, Son, and Moura worked together. Tottenham was three goals up by the half-hour mark, and only Son failed to get on the scoresheet by the end. The chemistry between that group should give Fulham’s defenders some real problems on Thursday as well.

Fulham vs. Tottenham Hotspur Betting Pick

  • Tottenham Hotspur to Win

It is unlike a Jose Mourinho team to score so many goals in a short amount of time, but Spurs looked very good against both Burnley and Wolfsberger last week. Fulham is currently playing better than both of those clubs, though, so this should be a closer affair. I still fancy Spurs to just shade it, though.
