Fulham vs. Leicester City – EPL, February 3, 2021

Fulham has been receiving some praise for the way Scott Parker has improved his team as the season has gone on – but there are still not enough points being won by the London side.

On Wednesday, it will host a Leicester team that lost at the weekend and needs to keep winning to stay in touch with the top four.

Fulham has only managed to win two games all season, so it is not a surprise to see BetOnline offer Leicester as the odds on favorite to win this one. But the Cottagers have been able to record a few draws this season – so maybe that might be an option to look at on Wednesday.

The way that Fulham dominated the early stages of its game with West Brom, the London club will be bitterly disappointed that it was unable to take all three points and make a big statement at the bottom of the Premier League. A point, in the end, is not really good enough for the Cottagers.

Although Scott Parker has done a really good job at making Fulham much harder to play against, the results have not been as he would have hoped. There have been no wins at all in the league since November – and West Brom is the kind of opponent Fulham really needs to beat.

Brendan Rodgers has also performed very impressively as Leicester manager this season but will need to figure out how to use the players he has available in a better way. Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi will both be missing this game once again – and they were sorely missed against Leeds at the weekend.

Leeds was able to attack the Leicester defense with more ease thanks to the hole left by Ndidi – and Leicester was also left with a lot of work to do going forward because of the way the team lines up. The Foxes tend to sit deep to give Vardy space to run into – and without the England striker, the remaining players have a lot of work to do before even getting near the opponent’s penalty box. Rodgers needs to adapt his tactics now.

Although Leicester is odds on to win this game, I think the price is still fairly good value – possibly due to the defeat at the weekend. Fulham can sometimes be difficult to beat, but this could be a straightforward game for the Foxes if Brendan Rodgers is able to work out how to change his formation slightly because of the absence of two of his most important players.
