Fulham vs. Crystal Palace – EPL, October 24, 2020
West meets south on Saturday as the EPL serves up another London derby in the form of Fulham versus Crystal Palace.
It has been a tough start to the season for the Cottagers and there is no guarantee that it will have everything its own way this weekend against a dogged Palace side.
Fulham vs. Crystal Palace Odds
The bookies make Crystal Palace the favorite to win this one on Saturday but the pricing is very close and that probably reflects the lack of belief in each team more than anything else. With little in the way attacking thrust in either side, the odds for the draw bet might hold the best value here.
Fulham vs. Crystal Palace Match Preview
Fulham picked up its first point of the season at the weekend as it came away from Brammall Lane with a very creditable draw. The good news for Scott Parker is that there were some real bright spots in his team – including the first appearance of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has joined from Chelsea on loan.
More important though, was the way that Tosin Adarabioyo played at the back. The youngster signed from Manchester City at the beginning of October and it looks as though he could be a real help to Fulham not conceding so many goals throughout the rest of the season.
But if Palace’s game against Brighton is anything to go by, Adarabioyo may not have that much to do this Saturday anyway. The Eagles managed just one shot on goal in the entire game – and that was the penalty dispatched by Wilfried Zaha. For a local derby that shows a worrying lack of steel from Roy Hodgson’s men.
He will be hoping that can be rectified this Saturday, as this will be a fixture that will have been circled as a must-win by Palace. Results have not been terrible so far, but there always seems to be a worrying run of form just around the corner with this team and confidence will need to stay high if Palace is to do anything this season.
Fulham vs. Crystal Palace Pick
Much like the bookies, I’m not entirely convinced that either of these two sides has enough about them at the moment to dominate a game and force a victory. Palace will surely be more incisive than it was against Brighton – but Fulham may actually have found a defender to deal with attacking opponents now. The draw bet definitely looks like the way to go here.
