forZe vs. OG Betting Pick – Thursday, August 13th, 2020

One of forZe and OG will be exiting the 2020 DreamHack event today as the two European organizations go head-to-head in Group B’s Decider Match.

Recent meetings between these teams have been quite the spectacles and I’m expecting another thrilling encounter today.

As always, the match will be played in a Best of 3 format and in my forZe vs. OG betting preview for August 13th, I try to figure out which option will give you the highest value today.

I start off with the current odds for the main betting markets and continue with my team analysis section but be sure to stay until the end where I have also prepared a free pick.

The Russians’ performances at the tournament have been quite decent so far.

They couldn’t outlast Complexity in their opening fixture but the fact that they took the favorites’ map pick round to a tiebreak and clinched it, speaks well for their chances to spring a surprise today.

It’s evident that the organization has used the break wisely and the players look motivated and organized.

Their approach is typical of the top Russian CS:GO organizations as they always try to find early openings and put the AWP in the hands of xsepower as soon as possible.

Their main sniper will once again be key and given his recent displays, forZe has a good chance to do well today.

The underdog label doesn’t bug them at all and despite they still lack the consistency and quality of the top CS:GO forces, their style and execution can still be deadly on almost any map from the pool.

The Frenchmen are the favorites to come away with a win here and this comes as no surprise. They are currently ranked 13th in the world and possess far greater experience in these situations.

That all sounds good on paper but there have been many holes in their game in the past two fixtures.

Team Spirit gave them a hard time as they managed to outmuscle Aleksib and his teammates on their map pick Mirage.

Ultimately, their stellar counter-terrorist style handed OG the win but they couldn’t replicate the same form against Complexity.

In-game leader blameF led his squad to victory in two maps with the highlight being an inspired display on Nuke in the closing rounds.

The Frenchmen couldn’t really make their CT rounds count in the end and the performance of key rifler NBK- was quite worrying.

They still possess good flexibility with the way Aleksib rallies his troops and mantuu, valde, and ISSAA’s stats have been solid so far but the team hasn’t handled their economy well enough in the crunch moments and this can definitely hurt them today.

For me, it’s all down to how well OG executes on the defense.

If the team can handle their counter-terrorist rounds the same way they did against Team Spirit, they should be through to the playoffs.

However, their buying policy has been a bit chaotic and NBK-‘s poor performances so far has given their opponents a chance to break their lines more often than the Frenchmen would want.

This forZe roster is not exactly an elite squad but they are a highly-organized unit and they usually follow their gameplan strictly.

Their lesser experience may cost them in the end but given how well they’ve performed against Spirit and Complexity, I believe they have every chance to take at least one round.

The odds for the Over 2.5 market give you the best balance here and that would be my final betting pick for today’s crunch tie.
