Fnatic vs. Team SoloMid Betting Preview – LoL Worlds, Saturday, October 3, 2020
The LoL Worlds 2020 Main Event starts this Saturday and one of the big questions is if the best teams from Europe and North America can stop the Asians. The clash between Fnatic and Team SoloMid from the opening round of the tournament should give us some answers.
Both sides are coming into the Worlds with plenty of ambition and a win at the start could do wonders for their chances to qualify for the playoffs.
I share my thoughts on the upcoming match in this Fnatic vs. Team SoloMid betting preview. It includes the latest odds and lines, my prediction, and a free betting pick.
Fnatic vs. Team SoloMid Odds
The Fnatic vs. Team SoloMid odds of the top LoL betting sites show that the teams are relatively close to each other in terms of a skill level and it should be a close match.
Let’s also clarify that the clash is in the best-of-one format, so the totals and the handicap are based on kills.
The second place in the LEC 2020 Summer Playoffs put Fnatic in a tough spot for the Worlds draw. I would say that the team should be happy to face TSM from pool 1, but getting Gen.G and LGD Gaming from pools 3 and 4 is hardly ideal.
And yet, we’re talking about a squad that reached the LOL World Championship Final in 2018. Three of the players that were involved in that run are still part of the roster and two more talents were added since.
The guys have been together for a while and they have excellent decision-making and team chemistry. They know how to take objectives and when the stay patient which should be crucial for Fnatic’s ambitions.
Team SoloMid Analysis
The leading North American side should draw some inspiration from what happened in the Play-In. Fellow LCS representative Team Liquid dominated its group stage and completely crushed the European squad MAD Lions that was actually the favorite.
The big question is which version of TSM is going to appear on Saturday. The side that was struggling to dominate its own region in the early stages of 2020 or the team that lifted the LCS in the summer.
The form of Bjergsen in the mid-lane should be instrumental and he’s the guy who has to make things happen for Team SoloMid.
I have the feeling that the squad’s trajectory has been leading to a strong performance in the Worlds, but a good start will be required to get out of the group.
Fnatic vs. Team SoloMid Prediction and Pick
I thought that the European teams should have the upper hand over North America, but the Play-In made me change my mind. MAD Lions struggled badly, while Liquid was one of the strongest sides in that stage of the Worlds.
That leads me to believe that the clash between Fnatic and TSM might be closer than the betting sites expect and I’m more than willing to take the +126 available for Team SoloMid.
