FlyToMoon vs. NiP Pick – Tuesday, September 1, 2020

After meeting twice within the last ten days in the Immortal Division, FlyToMoon and NiP will now play against each other in the Divine Division of the Omega League: Europe. That’s not where they normally belong, but that’s what happens when you underachieve.
It’s interesting to see how motivated both sides will be in the second tier of the Dota 2 competitive scene in the Europe and CIS region.
I share my thoughts on the matter in this FlyToMoon vs. NiP betting preview. It also includes odds, analysis of each team, my prediction, and a free betting pick.
FlyToMoon vs. NiP Betting Odds
- FlyToMoon to win; -312
- NiP to win; +218
- FlyToMoon (-1.5); +117
- NiP (+1.5); -156
- Over 2.5; +132
- Under 2.5; -175
The FlyToMoon vs. NiP odds of the top esports betting sites suggest that the Ukrainian team is the favorite and that’s hardly a surprise. After all, FTM won both matches in the Immortal Division without losing a single game.
FlyToMoon Team Form
I had much higher expectations for FlyToMoon in the Omega League and I thought I’d see the side in the playoffs of the immortal Division. And yet, the poor performances in the group stage and the close defeat versus Alliance in the play-in meant that the Ukrainians had to continue in the Divine Division.
I believe that part of the problem was FlyToMoon’s desire to experiment. I assume it’s only natural to try some new heroes and drafts when you face opponents like OG and Secret who constantly redefine the meta.
And yet, getting too far from your favorite tactics and heroes is not ideal. FlyToMoon got back to the basics in the tiebreaker vs. NiP and that worked really well.
I expect more of the same in the Divine Division, as the opponents there won’t be as mechanically skilled as the teams that FTM will face in the Immortal Division.
NiP Team Form
The other huge disappointment in group B of the Immortal Division was NiP. The side only won against Liquid in a weird match early on and pretty much got crushed by anyone else. If you add the abysmal performance in the playoffs, it’s hard to find any positives.
The Ninjas struggled both in the drafts and in terms of execution. You would often see the team way behind after the laning stage and it’s hard to come back from a losing position against the best in the world.
If you add the fact that NiP lost both matches against FlyToMoon without winning a single game, there’s little reason to be optimistic about the upcoming clash.
FlyToMoon vs. NiP Prediction and Pick
It seems like FlyToMoon just has NiP’s number right now after winning twice within ten days. The score was 2-0 on both occasions and I won’t be shocked if that’s the case the third time too. In fact, the price of +117 for FTM to cover the -1.5 handicap looks like the best betting pick available.
