FC Dallas vs. Inter Miami Betting Preview – MLS, October 28, 2020

FC Dallas hosts Inter Miami at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday, October 28. The Toros find themselves four point ahead of the Herons in the overall standings, although Dallas has two games in hand over the Florida club.

The Texans have only managed to win one of their previous seven outings, while Miami has won three of their last five. Needless to say, the momentum is with the Herons at the moment.

The bookies believe that FC Dallas (2.55) has a narrow edge, but Inter Miami’s recent form makes the odds for both the draw (3.35) and the away win (2.60) difficult to ignore.

Let’s take a closer look at the teams and attempt to make sense of the bookies’ prices.

Despite taking just five points from a possible 21 in recent weeks, Dallas somehow still sits just inside the top eight in the Western Conference. However, with the chasing pack hot on their heels, the Toros need to start winning games pretty quickly.

With two games in hand over some of the teams in the division, Luchi Gonzelez’s men are still on course to qualify for the play-offs. But if they continue to perform as they have done in recent games, they could find themselves dropping out of the top eight in the coming weeks.

Scoring goals has been the team’s main issue. Indeed, Dallas has only netted once in their previous four outings. You probably won’t be surprised to hear that Gonzalez’s men are the joint-lowest scorers in the West.

Still, Dallas’ backline has stood firm. Only second-place Seattle has conceded fewer goals than the Toros this year, and their impressive defensive record could see them over the line.

In fact, Inter Miami has actually scored on goal fewer than Dallas. The Herons initially struggled to hit the target this year, although it feels like the team has improved drastically in attack lately.

Diego Alonso’s men have scored in each of their previous six outings, netting twice in games against New York City, New York Red Bulls, and Orlando City. The arrival of Gonzalo Higuain has obviously helped matters, but Leandro Gonzalez Pirez was the star of the show last time out.

The Florida Derby appeared to be heading for a draw on Saturday, but the center-back scored on 89 minutes to hand Miami all three points. Gonzalez Pirez certainly picked the right time to net his first goals of the season!

I’ve been very impressed with Inter Miami recently. Alonso’s men seem to have taken their game to another level, while Dallas has struggled for both consistency and points.

The Herons were without the suspended Higuain last time out, but the former Juventus star will return to the starting line-up on Wednesday. I’m backing Higuain and co. to earn Miami a second win in succession.
