FaZe vs. NiP Pick – Friday, September 18th, 2020
FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pyjamas will go head-to-head in the sixth group stage round of the ESL Pro League 12.
Both teams are glued to the bottom of Group B after a string of poor performances, however, the Ninjas still have a slight chance of making it to the playoffs if they come away with a win here.
The tie promises to be quite unpredictable and in this post, I try to help you out with the betting angle by looking at the current prices for the top markets and sharing an overview of the organizations’ recent form and key news surrounding them.
I finish off with a FaZe vs. NiP free betting pick so make sure you stay until the end!
FaZe vs. NiP Odds
First, let’s have a look at the odds. The ones below are courtesy of SportsBetting.ag and here is what they have rolled out for the main markets:
Total Maps Played
Despite The Clan’s miserable run so far they are pinned as a huge favorite here and this makes NiP a very attractive option.
Let’s take a deep dive and see how both these teams have been performing and what we can expect from them in this next tie, and then I move on to my final match prediction.
Nothing has clicked for FaZe during this tournament and the team is officially out of the playoff picture after falling Team Spirit in the last round.
There were big expectations for this roster after they signed Kjaerbye but the Dane is yet to find his rhythm under the leadership of NiKo.
To top it all off, experienced players coldzera, broky, and rain have looked nothing like themselves which made the squad easy prey for every single one of the teams they’ve met so far.
Astralis, mouseposrts, Fnatic, and Vitality all wrapped up clean sweeps against FaZe, and taking a map against Spirit won’t do too much for the confidence of this group.
They will certainly want to end their involvement on a high but I feel their concentration is already gone and this could easily turn into another woeful outing for them.
Ninjas in Pyjamas
The Ninjas are pretty much in the same boat as they’ve only managed just a single win so far.
They too haven’t been able to get their game going and after impressing at the ESL One: Cologne event, the form they are showing in the current tournament is nowhere near the needed standards.
There have been some decent performances from Plopski and REZ, but not a lot of support from twist and captain hampus.
Furthermore, the organization confirmed that key piece nawwk will be going on medical leave, and coach THREAT will act as a stand-in for the remaining ESL Pro League games.
This puts the team at an even bigger disadvantage and even if they manage to put up a decent performance here, I just can’t see them working their way into the playoffs.
FaZe vs. NiP Prediction and Pick
The absence of nawwk has prompted all of the top rated CS:GO betting sites to slash the odds for FaZe, however, I feel the value is with NiP.
It will be hard without one of their best players, however, THREAT is an experienced player and with the way FaZe has been performing so far, the Ninjas will feel they are in with a chance.
The Clan has basically nothing to play for, while their opponents can still salvage something from the tournament, so I simply can’t pass up on the +190 price here.
