FaZe vs. mousesports – Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020
European organizations FaZe Clan and mousesports will clash in the late opening fixture in Group B of the ESL Pro League 12 and it may prove to be a crucial matchup.
The competition at the tournament is relentless, so this is a great chance for both these teams to stake an early claim for the playoffs.
They haven’t met in a competitive setting since May and a lot has changed since then, so the purpose of this post is to bring you up to speed with the latest developments and try to guide you to where the betting value lies.
I start off with a look at the prices for the top betting markets and then share an in-depth analysis of both teams.
I wrap up things with my FaZe vs. mousesports betting pick, so make sure you stay until the end!
FaZe vs. mousesports Odds
Let us first take a look at the latest odds for the main markets:
Total Maps Played
These prices were taken from BetOnline and I feel the value they present is quite fair given the circumstances.
Let’s check out how both these organizations have been faring lately and see what is the best way to approach the betting angle.
The Clan will probably not be too satisfied with their performance at the ESL One: Cologne tournament after falling heavily to Heroic and Vitality, however, we must take into account the fact that they are still searching for the right formula with new addition Kjaerbye in the ranks.
There were some decent performances from the Danish player and this roster has every reason to believe that they can challenge for the top spots once they get their rhythm going.
And a game against the struggling mousesports is a perfect opportunity for a good start.
Key pieces NiKo, coldzera, and broky have history on their side and all the prerequisites to produce a solid display, and it’s no surprise to see all the best CS:GO betting sites giving the nod to FaZe here.
The team has been in a freefall for quite some time now and there wasn’t any notable improvement during their ESL One: Cologne campaign.
They looked decent in certain stretches of the opening tie against Natus Vincere but were then completely outplayed by lower-ranked MAD Lions which was another huge blow for this team.
Something had to give and the organization finally decided to shift things by dropping woxic from the starting lineup and replacing him with 17-year-old Bymas.
The Lithuanian had a brief stint with FaZe but he never really got going in his unfamiliar role as a lurker and it was evident that NiKo will decide to move him on.
It looks like Bymas will have more freedom on this mousesports team and they will hope their new addition will settle in quickly and provide a spark that has been missing for a long time.
FaZe vs. mousesports Prediction and Betting Pick
It’s hard to back mousesports here given how the team has only won one map in their last five competitive outings.
The roster change will probably inject a bit of fresh energy in the ranks but although Bymas is definitely a talented player, he still lacks the experience and composure to regularly come up with good performances in this tier.
FaZe is not exactly in their best shape but Kjaerbye’s addition gives them a new dimension and I feel it is a matter of time before NiKo, coldzera, broky, and rain find the right formula to put their new player to good use.
For mousesports, it will be a tough road to get back to their best and there will be a lot of rocky moments along the way, even if some of the players do improve in this tournament.
For me, it’s too early for karrigan and his teammates to stage any kind of meaningful resistance against a very ambitious FaZe team, so my money’s on a clean sweep for the favorites.
