Everton vs. West Bromwich Albion Betting Preview – EPL, September 19, 2020

We are only one game in and it is already looking like it could be a long campaign for West Brom. The Baggies desperately want to stop being a yo-yo club but last week’s performance didn’t suggest that would change anytime soon.
It is, of course, far too early to condemn Slaven Bilic’s side to the Championship. But Everton started the season on a much brighter note and will be confident of three more points this Saturday.
Everton vs. West Bromwich Albion Odds
Everton fans will be the first to warn of getting carried away with their club’s chances. But it does look like the offseason arrivals have all settled down very nicely very quickly. That does mean that Everton is the strong favorite with MyBookie to win this one. But it is difficult to see any other result happening.
Match Preview
The new-look attacking midfield of Everton looks like it could give a few sides some problems this season, even though Spurs didn’t really force it to pull out all the stops on Sunday. But one factor that will please manager Carlo Ancelotti is that it was Dominic Calvert-Lewin that scored the solitary goal.
The young striker has been promising to step up as the main man for a few seasons now and it does look like he will be receiving some very good service this year to stake a claim as one of the league’s exciting prospects. He will be just one of the Everton players to look at this fixture as a chance of boosting his goal tally.
West Brom looks to have some attacking problems, however. It is worrying that Slaven Bilic is putting his faith in Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu to score the goals to keep his team up this season. Both strikers are able to do a job on their day – but there will be a need for more firepower if a relegation fight is not the end result.
The Baggies might count themselves unlucky that it took two Jamie Vardy penalties to confirm the win for Leicester last weekend after Timothy Castagne has scored on his Premier League debut. But in truth, West Brom was outplayed fro start to finish and was lucky not to concede more.
Everton vs. West Brom Prediction and Pick
-
Everton to Win-185
It seems as though everyone is waiting to see whether James Rodriguez is going to recapture the form that he showed when he burst onto the scene with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup. But Everton has far more in its locker than just him – and might be able to share a few goals around the team against West Brom on Saturday.
