Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur – FA Cup, February 10, 2021

Just one point separates Everton and Spurs in the EPL table as the two sides prepare to face off in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday, February 10.

Seventh-place Everton currently leads eighth-place Tottenham in the top-flight standings, although league form is likely to go out the window at Goodison Park.

Planning to wager on Wednesday’s FA Cup clash? If so, I recommend checking out my Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur prediction and betting pick below.

Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur Odds

Everton to Win2.60
The Draw3.10
Tottenham Hotspur to Win2.75

As 10bet’s odds suggest, this is likely to be a closely-fought encounter. With the teams in a very similar league position, we could easily see this match go all the way to extra-time.

With the home-field advantage, Everton (2.60) is the bookies’ marginal favorite to advance. But as you can see, Tottenham (2.75) is expected to push the Toffees close.

Let’s take a closer look at both sides.

Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Everton survived a third-round scare in early January, securing a narrow 2-1 victory over Rotherham United in extra-time. But Carlo Ancelotti’s men made light work of Sheffield Wednesday in the previous round, claiming an easy 3-0 win.

The Toffees head into Wednesday’s match on the back of a hard-fought comeback draw against Manchester United on Saturday. Despite trailing 2-0 at half-time and 3-2 later in the game, Everton eventually managed to seal a 3-3 draw at Old Trafford.

Given that Man Utd crushed Southampton 9-0 last week, Saturday’s result must be viewed as a success.

Thankfully for the Toffees, Dominic Calvert-Lewin appears to have rediscovered his scoring boots. The forward bagged 11 goals in his first 11 league games this term before enduring a seven-game goal drought. However, he has notched up two goals and one assist in his last two outings.

With James Rodriguez also getting back to his best, Everton will surely fancy their chances of snatching a European spot this term.

On the topic of European spots, Tottenham is in danger of missing out altogether. We all know that Spurs made a strong start to the campaign, but their recent performances – and results – have been nowhere near good enough.

Granted, Jose Mourinho’s side ended a three-match losing streak by beating West Brom on Sunday. But getting the better of the Baggies isn’t exactly a big achievement, is it?

Following recent defeats to Liverpool, Brighton, and Chelsea, Spurs now find themselves sitting eighth in the Premier League table – four points outside the top four and 14 points off the summit.

Harry Kane made a shock return from injury at the weekend, taking his tally for the season to 20 goals and 14 assists in 30 games in all competitions. However, he is likely to be rested on Wednesday – and that is not good news for Tottenham.

Without Kane, Spurs look like a completely different team.

Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur Betting Pick

  • The Draw

If Tottenham’s recent matches are anything to go by, Mourinho’s men are likely to sit back and attempt to hit Everton on the counter-attack. That approach will probably lead to a lack of clear-cut goalscoring opportunities.

Having taken everything into consideration, I believe the draw is the way to go here. Not only is this matchup likely to be a cagey affair, but the price of 3.10 is very attractive.
