Everton vs. Burnley – EPL, March 13, 2021
Everton is suddenly in danger of falling away from the top four and a home game against Burnley would seem to be an opportunity to keep in touch with the likes of West Ham and Chelsea.
But the Clarets are never an easy opponent, with Sean Dyche able to set out a team to restrict and frustrate. Will Everton be able to break through Burnley on Saturday?
Everton vs. Burnley Latest Odds
Everton should be able to beat Burnley quite comfortably, so the odds for a home win look about right here. But Burnley is able to grind out results, so there will probably be some interest in the draw bet. Only the very risky – and Burnley fans – will find the away win attractive.
Everton vs. Burnley Match Preview
Everton was only one point behind Chelsea before the two met at Stamford Bridge last Saturday. But the two-goal winning margin for the home side doesn’t really convey how much better Thomas Tuchel’s side was.
Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be able to play a big part in proceedings for the first time since returning from injury. He hasn’t really got back in the swing of things yet and could do with a goal or two to settle his nerves. If James Rodriguez can shake off a slight injury, his inclusion may well help with that.
Sean Dyche will look at this game as another where he sets out his team to restrict the opponent as much as possible and somehow snatch a result. That was the case last weekend against Arsenal, even though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Gunners the lead after just six minutes.
Burnley capitalized on a mistake from Granit Xhaka and was able to survive some VAR scares later on before taking a point from the game. There are just four points separating Burnley from the bottom three at the moment but there are not many that think that the Clarets are in any real danger. So even a defeat here would not set off any alarm bells.
Everton vs. Burnley Betting Pick
Everton to Win-123
Everton is the odds on favorite to win at home on Saturday, but there is not much point looking at the other options in my opinion. Burnley might be able to frustrate Carlo Ancelotti’s side for large chunks of the game but Everton should be able to come through at the end.
