EuroLeague Predictions and Best Bets – October 29, 2020
The 2020 EuroLeague basketball season continues this week, as we get a fun five-game schedule on Thursday afternoon.
While five games are on the schedule, this league remains pretty fluid thanks to COVID-19. A lot of players have missed time, and games have been moved around.
Thankfully, the league does intend on making those games up, but going into slates, the news just isn’t as prevalent as it is for NBA and other sports.
That does mean betting on the EuroLeague can be a bit dicey, and for Thursday, we only have three games to work with in terms of betting odds. Here they are.
- Valencia vs. CSKA Moscow
- Fenerbahce Ulker vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv
- Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid
If you find EuroLeague betting odds for the other games, more power to you.
For now, we’ll just focus on these games, and try to carve out successful EuroLeague predictions and top betting picks for Thursday, October 29th.
Valencia vs. CSKA Moscow Predictions
- CSKA Moscow to beat Valencia
- Predicted total: 160-165
Valencia is off to a better start in EuroLeague than CSKA Moscow, as both teams have been pouring in points, but Valencia has been playing superior defense.
It’s possible Valencia continues their hot run here, but they’re a little overmatched with Bojan Dubljevic really their lone go-to option. The more balanced CSKA Moscow should prevail if they can just tighten things up defensively a bit.
Fenerbahce Ulker vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv Predictions
- Fenerbahce Ulker to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv
- Predicted total: 156-160
This one feels like a toss-up. Jan Veseley and Nando De Colo probably give Fenerbahce Ulker the edge in star power and offensive upside, but Maccabi Tel Aviv have a plethora of post players that can hurt you, and are getting stellar play out of Scottie Wilbekin.
That said, the value clearly lies with Fenerbahce Ulker. If you can’t go all the way with them, the offensive firepower and lack of defense on either side could still register as fine EuroLeague betting picks.
Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid Predictions
- Bayern Munich to Beat Real Madrid
- Predicted total: 160-165
It’s early, but so far it feels like we can get a lot of value in betting on the 2020 EuroLeague. Real Madrid is supposed to be better than this after going 22-6 a year ago, but they’re off to a sluggish 1-4 start.
The defense just hasn’t been up to part, while their only truly consistent scorer has been Trey Thompkins. That probably won’t cut it, especially since Bayern Munich has several guys who have showcased explosive ability to this point.
I think Bayern Munich is a fun upset play at BetOnline, and this is another game that could push toward the Over.
Best EuroLeague Bets for Thursday, October 29th
- Valencia (+6.5) -110
- Valencia vs. CSKA Moscow Over 160.5 (-108)
- Fenerbahce Ulker to Win (+140)
- Bayern Munich to Win (+308)
We’re only five rounds deep and a lot of teams could get jolts with lineup news. That said, there figures to be some pretty alluring value on the table on Thursday, and I see no reason we can’t exploit it.
EuroLeague betting doesn’t have to be hard. Yes, any team can rise up and get back to where they need to be, but to this point, Real Madrid has not been as good as expected, and bettors should bet against them until they prove they’re returning to form.
If you’re not game for the straight up underdog plays, you can still approach comfortable spreads.
Should you like any of these bets, feel free to take them to the best basketball betting sites.
