EuroLeague Predictions and Best Bets – March 2, 2021

| March 2, 2021 6:20 am PDT

I love EuroLeague betting because it’s a much more obscure genre than other sports. That can create easy value to target (although it doesn’t always hit), and on Tuesday there could be loads of it.

Tuesday is about as loaded of a EuroLeague schedule as you’ll ever see, with an insane seven games hitting the hardwood.

Check out all of the matchups for March 2nd.

  • Zenit vs. Alba Berlin
  • Khimki vs. Real Madrid
  • Anadolu Efes vs. Valencia
  • Zalgiris vs. Asvel Lyon
  • Panathinaikos vs. Barcelona
  • Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. CSKA
  • Crvena Zvezda vs. Bayern Munich

Phew, it’s a good thing I’m only writing this and not talking, because that’s a mouthful.

EuroLeague betting slates are usually a couple games lighter, so this is either going to be a really intense day, or a really fun one. Heck, maybe both.

My EuroLeague picks went swimmingly to close out the week on Friday (2-1) and if I had gone for it, I’d have had a monster upset pick with Asvel shocking the collective EuroLeague world with a win over Barcelona.

Anything can happen, it seems.

It’s onto this big slate, though. For advice as to how to bet, read on for Tuesday’s EuroLeague predictions and top betting picks.

Zenit vs. Alba Berlin Predictions

  • Zenit to beat Alba Berlin
  • Predicted total: 150-155

Zenit face Alba Berlin, with one eye still on the top of the 2021 EuroLeague standings.

They’re a solid 15-10, but have regressed lately behind a 1-4 stretch. Kevin Pangos anchors this offense, with numerous big men to turn to.

Zenit had the upper hand in a previous 73-66 win back in round 10, while Alba Berlin are just 9-17 on the year. They won their most recent game, but that snapped a four-game drought.

Jayson Granger also remains out due to a hand injury, and he’s out indefinitely.

Everything favors Zenit here, so I’d go with them across the board.

Khimki vs. Real Madrid Predictions

  • Real Madrid to beat Khimki
  • Predicted total: 160-165

Khimki felt like a fun ATS play their last time out, but then Alexey Shved was ruled out. They still beat the spread, though, and with Shved back in the saddle, they will be an interesting upset bet.

It’s been a rough go of it for Khimki Moscow in EuroLeague play, though. They haven’t won since round nine, and are the worst team in the league at a paltry 2-23.

Real Madrid remains rock solid at 16-10. They’re banged up, of course, with Sergio Llull, Trey Thompkins, Rudy Fernandez, and Carlos Alocen all out or limited.

That could give Khimki the edge they need, but I think the best bets are still Real Madrid to win, and the Over.

Anadolu Efes vs. Valencia Predictions

  • Valencia to beat Anadolu Efes
  • Predicted total: 155-160

Shane Larkin was quiet in Anadolu Efes’ last game, yet they still won their fourth game in a row. They’re now looking like a legit contender at 15-10, and he’s largely back to playing like an MVP.

Anadolu Efes is at full strength, and they’ll battle a good Valencia Basket team they lost to in a nail biter (76-74) earlier this year.

Valencia is not a team to mess with. Klemen Prepelic, Nikola Kalinic, and the tried and true Bojan Dubljevic are a nasty trio, and this team is feeling it with three straight wins.

I love that they’re healthy and playing well now. They’ve scored impressive wins over their last three contests, and their +288 moneyline is too alluring to ignore.

Zalgiris vs. Asvel Lyon Predictions

  • Asvel Lyon to beat Zalgiris
  • Predicted total: 155-160

Another team positively surging these days is Asvel, who upset FC Barcelona in their last game.

They’re a little banged up at guard, but they’re on a tear with seven straight wins, while Norris Cole has scored in double figures in six of those seven victories.

Zalgiris, meanwhile, are going in the opposite direction. They’re just 1-3 over their last four contests. They did take the previous meeting earlier this year, but I’ll ride the wave with Asvel Lyon.

Panathinaikos vs. Barcelona Predictions

  • Barcelona to beat Panathinaikos
  • Predicted total: 150-155

Barcelona stands out as one of the best EuroLeague bets on Tuesday. They got upset their last time out, but they’re 18-8 and need to keep winning to hold onto first place in the EuroLeague standings.

They’re better than that performance, and they also outlasted Panathinaikos (97-89) the last time they faced them.

Panathinaikos is actually playing well (3-2 over their last five), but they’re without two major players in Nemanja Nedovic and Ionnis Papapetrou.

I don’t think they can overcome that and get the win here, but they aren’t a bad play against the spread.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. CSKA Predictions

  • CSKA to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv
  • Predicted total: 155-160

This is another easy call, as 17-8 CSKA Moscow needs to keep pressure on Barcelona atop the EuroLeague rankings.

Mike James returned and helped them down Olympiacos in their last game, so it should be smoother sailing going forward.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is slumping behind three straight losses, and they’re understandable underdogs here. The line is honestly not that thick, though, so you’re getting pretty good value with the superior CSKA, no matter what.

Crvena Zvezda vs. Bayern Munich Predictions

  • Bayern Munich to beat Crvena Zvezda
  • Predicted total: 155-160

Lastly, I also love Bayern Munich. They’re the fifth best team at 16-10 right now, and they’re in solid form with a 4-1 record over their last five games.

They crushed Crvena the last time they faced them (74-59), and the latter are now the second worst team in the league at 7-19.

Crvena is really banged up, with Johnny O’Bryant leaving the team, and Landry Nnoko uncertain for this one, among others.

This team has dropped seven in a row, and the bleeding isn’t likely to stop on Tuesday.

Best EuroLeague Bets for Tuesday, March 2nd

  • Valencia to Win (+288)
  • Asvel Lyon to Win (+146)
  • CSKA Moscow to Win (-187)
  • Bayern Munich (-4.5) -112

I typically do not like betting on EuroLeague game totals unless they’re super obvious.

Teams often have contrasting styles, or they just don’t player their best players as much as they should, so it’s a tough bet to consistently predict.

I’ll stick to moneylines and spreads here, with my favorites EuroLeague picks listed above.

You already know I am very high on Valencia, and the price ices it for me. Their +288 moneyline at the top EuroLeague basketball betting sites is pretty crazy, to be frank.

Asvel is just in a groove, too. You can play it safe with both of these and just bet them to beat the spread, but I love them as upset picks on Tuesday.

Bayern and CSKA look like two more locked-in wins. I like the value with CSKA’s moneyline, but you have to pay more to trust in Bayern Munich. Luckily, the spread isn’t wild, so you can just bet on them to cover.
