EuroLeague Predictions and Best Bets – March 19, 2021

| March 18, 2021 1:02 pm PDT

Bettors can close the regular work week out with a fun EuroLeague basketball slate, with four games priced over at BetOnline.

Top-ranked FC Barcelona is in action as they try to keep some distance between the top teams, while Anadolu Efes attempts to close the gap.

See who’s in action on March 19th before you place any bets.

  • Valencia vs. Khimki Moscow
  • Crvena vs. Panathinaikos
  • Anadolu Efes vs. Bayern Munich
  • Barcelona vs. Olimpia Milano

This has the makings of a fun EuroLeague betting slate, as the top three teams in the league are in action, and then you have the fast-paced Khimki squad.

Khimki Moscow is always a terrible bet to win, but their terrible defense keeps things interesting.

Alexey Shved is again questionable, though, so it’s worth wondering if even the game total is in doubt for their showdown against Valencia Basket.

Let’s see how to bet on Friday, with my EuroLeague predictions and top betting picks.

Valencia vs. Khimki Moscow Predictions

  • Valencia to beat Khimki
  • Predicted total: 165-170

This feels like an easy call, as Khimki is a horrific 3-25. They did finally snap a ghastly losing streak in round 27, but they’re back to their usual ways with two straight losses.

I don’t expect this new drought to end on Friday, seeing as Alexey Shved is banged up and may not play. Even if he’s in, Khimki looks like a bad bet.

It is worth noting that they gave Valencia a challenge in an 88-82 shootout loss earlier this year, of course.

That said, Khimki’s defense is just really bad. Obviously they allowed 88 points in that first game, and they’ve given up at least 80+ in 24 games on the year.

Even when they win, Khimki gives up points. Do note that Valencia big man Bojan Dubljevic (hand) is nicked up, and it’s always possible he gets some rest against an inferior foe.

The Over is probably the only alluring bet here, but given the high starting point (171.5!), it still feels a little dicey. Overall, this may be a game to avoid.

Crvena vs. Panathinaikos Predictions

  • Panathinaikos to beat Crvena
  • Predicted total: 150-155

I have some interest in Crvena to keep their game with Panathinaikos competitive, especially if Jordan Loyd decides to show up.

He’s done that lately, as he hung 26 points on Bayern Munich a few games ago, and torched Khimki for 22 points and six dimes in his last outing.

That performance led to a nice win for Crvena, as they won for the first time since round 19.

Obviously taking out Khimki by itself isn’t that impressive, but Crvena has been in some of their games lately. Bettors will want to factor in the impact of Dejan Davidovac being out for this one, though.

Panathinaikos is the better team when you look at talent, but they’re actually just two wins ahead of Crvena, and they lost a tight 74-71 game earlier this year.

They haven’t been in amazing form, either, having lost three of their last four.

They got some good news that star guard Nemanja Nedovic could be back soon, of course.

If it happens on Friday, Panathinaikos is easy to love. However, given the state of these teams and a thick 7.5-point spread, I like the value with leaning toward Crvena here.

Anadolu Efes vs. Bayern Munich Predictions

  • Anadolu Efes to beat Bayern Munich
  • Predicted total: 155-160

This is probably the runner-up for “game of the day”, but it’s still a great one. Anadolu Efes has climbed all the way to second place (19-10) in the EuroLeague standings, and they’ll be hoping to inch closer to the top spot.

Shane Larkin and Vasilije Micic form one of the best guard tandems in the league, and they seem to be gaining steam.

Due to their stellar play, Anadolu Efes has won seven in a row, and 10 of their last 11.

They’ll be a tough out here, but they did get edged out (74-71) by Bayern Munich earlier this season.

Bayern (18-11) is also right behind them in the standings, and they’ve been in solid form with a nice 6-2 run over their last eight games.

I think it’s too tough to bet against a red hot Anadolu team, but you need to have some interest in Bayern as a +273 home dog. The best bet is likely Bayern ATS, though.

Barcelona vs. Olimpia Milano Predictions

  • Barcelona to beat Olimpia Milano
  • Predicted total: 155-160

The best game to bet on is likely this clash between Barcelona and Olimpia Milano. FC

Barcelona is still the team to beat, ranking first in the 2021 EuroLeague standings. The only downside with them is the fact that they’ve already qualified for the playoffs.

That could deter you from betting on them, but they are still a cool -144. I can’t pass on that price, though.

They took care of Olimpia Milano fairly easily earlier this year, and Milan isn’t at full strength. Malcolm Delaney won’t play on Friday, and it’s possible Luigi Datome (knee) is out, as well.

Definitely keep tabs on Barcelona in case it’s announced they’ll rest or limit anyone. For now, however, -144 for a FC Barcelona win feels like a steal.

Best EuroLeague Bets for Friday, March 19th

  • Valencia vs. Khimki Under 171.5 (-109)
  • Crvena (+7.5) -101
  • Bayern Munich (+7.5) -106
  • Barcelona to Win (-144)

Backing Barcelona doesn’t take much spine. They’re just the best team in the league, and they come in at a nice price. I’d just keep tabs on their lineup to ensure incentive is there for them.

Crvena and Bayern are great values ATS. One is actually a good team, but both matchups are beatable, and the line is really nice. I feel better about Bayern, but both are in play.

That Valencia vs. Khimki game is going to be explosive, but it’s also almost definitely going to be one-sided. Once you start taking guys like Shved or Dubljevic out of the game, it’s likely the scoring suffers, too.

I don’t doubt that this game will have points, but 171.5 is a tough score to beat (or feel great about). I’d rather hammer the Under there.

Hopefully some of these EuroLeague picks stand out as viable bets for you to target. If you’re ready to jump on any, check out the best sites for betting on basketball.
