EuroLeague Predictions and Best Bets – February 18, 2021

EuroLeague Basketball is finally back. It technically returned with a one-game Wednesday slate, but that doesn’t really count.
Thursday brings EuroLeague action back in full force, as four games hit the hardwood. Let’s take a quick look at who is facing off on February 18th.
- Saski Baskonia vs. Khimki Moscow
- Olympiacos vs. Anadolu Efes
- Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. Olimpia Milano
- Zalgiris vs. FC Barcelona
While it’s fun to get EuroLeague back, bettors do need to keep in mind that some of these games figure to be lopsided.
That’s how they’re priced, anyways. Three of the four games have spreads at +7.5 or thicker, so you’ll have to decide if the favorites will dominate or not.
I’ll help you figure it out in Thursday’s EuroLeague predictions, and top betting picks.
Saski Baskonia vs. Khimki Moscow Predictions
- Khimki Moscow to beat Saski Baskonia
- Predicted total: 170-175
Khimki is a despicable 2-21, and they haven’t won since round nine. That will persuade most to bet against them here, but even the worst team in EuroLeague has to fall into a win eventually.
There is no defense to speak of for Khimki, but they still have Alexey Shved and an (at times) potent offense.
They host Saski Baskonia, which has flexed their defensive muscle in two recent wins. They had lost their previous four games, however, so they could be a bit vulnerable here.
I like that Khimki is at home and offers offensive potential, and you know they’re itching to snap this skid. I think there’s a chance they do just that on Thursday.
Olympiacos vs. Anadolu Efes Predictions
- Anadolu Efes to beat Olympiacos
- Predicted total: 155-160
While I am all for taking a shot on Khimki Moscow finally getting that elusive win, I’m not as enamored with doing the same with Olympiacos.
They’ve endured their own drought, as they’ve lost five in a row.
Opponent | Result |
ASVEL | L, 69-63 |
Zalgiris | L, 81-79 |
Olimpia Milano | L, 90-79 |
FC Barcelona | L, 76-74 |
Panathinaikos | L, 88-77 |
Luckily, they’ve shown up offensively in several close games, so Olympiacos ATS is not a terrible idea here.
Anadolu Efes is still probably going to win, though. They’re riding high after a huge win against FC Barcelona, and they’re now 5-1 over their last six games.
Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. Olimpia Milano Predictions
- Olimpia Milano to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv
- Predicted total: 150-155
This game has the tightest spread of the day, so you better believe I have some interest in the underdog. That’s none other than 10-12 Maccabi, who visit 15-8 Milan.
Milan is the better team, and they’re at home, but these two battled to a tense 86-85 finish (Milan won) earlier this year.
Olimpia Milano is actually the one that isn’t quite 100%, with forward Zach Leday currently on the shelf. I also rarely love the idea of betting against Scottie Wilbekin (16.3 points per game).
Milan probably wins, but look for Maccabi Tel Aviv to once again give them a run for their money.
Zalgiris vs. FC Barcelona Predictions
- FC Barcelona to beat Zalgiris
- Predicted total: 155-160
The other game on Thursday should be a pretty easy call, with the heavily favored FC Barcelona hosting Zalgiris.
Zalgiris is a solid 13-10, and they’re better than their record suggests. They had a brutal lull earlier this year, but they’re 8-3 over their last 11 games.
It’s still likely they’re not much of a match for Barcelona, who are healthy and back atop the EuroLeague standings at 17-7.
Barcelona lost their most recent contest – a heartbreaker against Anadolu Efes – but they’d ripped off wins in six straight games before that.
Best EuroLeague Bets for Thursday, February 18th
- Khimki Moscow to Win (+283)
- Maccabi Tel Aviv (+4) -109
- Olympiacos (+10) -118
- Zalgiris (+9.5) -110
- Zalgiris vs. Barcelona Over 154.5 (-112)
I am swinging for the fences with Khimki Moscow on Thursday.
They are beyond due, and we know they can get it going offensively. With the extended break, I think they come in well-rested and ready to fight for their third win of the season.
You can target much safer bets with the rest of my EuroLeague picks here. Maccabi is another fun upset play, but I’ll just bank on that game at least being competitive.
Olympiacos and Zalgiris are both in tough spots, but their spreads are also super thick. I think they both can be surprisingly competitive here.
As for that Zalgiris game, I think the total is a bit too low. Barcelona has seen their games top this specific game total twice in their last three games, so it’s not a crazy bet to make at all.
