EuroLeague Predictions and Best Bets – December 3, 2020
EuroLeague basketball picks back up on Thursday, and the top basketball betting sites have odds out for five games.
My last edition of EuroLeague picks went very well, as I had four of six picks turn into winners.
Let’s see which contests we’ll be able to bet on today.
- Olympiakos vs. CSKA Moscow
- Fenerbahce Ulker vs. Zenit St. Petersburg
- Crvena Zvezda vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv
- Panathinaikos vs. Olimpia Milano
- Alba Berlin vs. Valencia
Bettors have some rocky waters ahead, as none of these games have a spread closer than 5.5. That doesn’t mean we need to fear all blowouts, but there could be some traps here.
On the bright side, thick point spreads make it a bit easier – at least, in theory – to profit off of the underdogs. It also gives way to compelling dog money.
For a good idea as to how to bet on this slate, join me for my EuroLeague predictions and top betting picks for Thursday.
Olympiakos vs. CSKA Moscow Predictions
- CSKA Moscow to beat Olympiakos
- Predicted total: 155-160
CSKA Moscow is on fire these days. Mike James is playing lights out (25+ points in each of his last three games), and he’s been a part of five consecutive wins.
This feels like an easy win for CSKA Moscow, but Olympiakos could be pesky enough to be a solid ATS play.
Fenerbahce Ulker vs. Zenit St. Petersburg Predictions
- Zenit St. Petersburg to beat Fenerbahce Ulker
- Predicted total: 145-150
I wouldn’t feel great about paying to back Fenerbahce Ulker, who are not consistently in games and leave a lot to be desired defensively.
This team has some serious star power with Jan Vesely leading the charge, but he just isn’t consistent enough at a high level. Fenerbahce Ulker will also be without top guard Nando de Colo.
Kevin Pangos powers a solid Zenit offense that has ripped off three wins in a row, too. I don’t think their hot run ends here.
Crvena Zvezda vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv Predictions
- Crvena Zvezda to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv
- Predicted total: 150-155
Maccabi Tel Aviv stands at 3-8 and have obviously been one of the worst teams in EuroLeague play in 2020. Scottie Wilbekin gives them an explosive scorer, but they just aren’t finishing games.
They’re favored to do so here, but they’ll have to quiet Jordan Lloyd (18.4 points per game). I think they can, but Crvena Zvezda ATS looks like a solid bet on this slate.
Panathinaikos vs. Olimpia Milano Predictions
- Olimpia Milano to beat Panathinaikos
- Predicted total: 160-165
Olimpia Milano looks like the obvious winner here. Sergio Rodriguez is playing strong ball, but with Kevin Punter and Malcolm Delaney also stepping up, this team is just so deep now.
They also happen to be on fire with three straight wins, while Panathinaikos is still struggling at 3-7.
Panathinaikos has the star power with Ionnis Papapetrou and Nemanja Nedovic to make this a game, but relying on that duo hasn’t been a winning formula this year.
Alba Berlin vs. Valencia Predictions
- Valencia to beat Alba Berlin
- Predicted total: 160-165
This is a classic battle between the good and bad, as Valencia Basket (7-3) is vying for the best record in EuroLeague, and Alba Berlin could find themselves in last place in short order.
Peyton Siva is playing well and is basically Alba Berlin’s lone bright spot in 2020, but it hasn’t been enough. I doubt it is on Thursday, either.
Best EuroLeague Bets for Thursday, December 3rd
- Olympiakos (+8.5) -108
- Crvena Zvezda (+6.5) -119
- Crvena Zvezda to Win (+224)
- Valencia (-9.5) -114
Olympiakos has a nice spread to work with on this slate, so I have no qualms with simply banking on them staying in this game.
The other bet I love is with Crvena Zvezda. They’re being overlooked here, where they should have no issue beating the spread, but also look like a very appealing upset pick.
On the flip side, Valencia has their eye on the top of the league. They’ll leave zero doubt in a route of Alba Berlin.
