EuroLeague Predictions and Best Bets – April 2, 2021
Yesterday was a glorious day for sports bettors, as baseball is back, which gave us an extra sport to bet on.
If you like to bet on more obscure sports like EuroLeague, your list of betting options is just that much longer.
This has also been a fun week to bet on EuroLeague, too, seeing as things got started with a seven-game slate on Tuesday.
Let’s wrap the week up in style, but first, see who is playing on April 2nd, 2021.
- Valencia vs. Alba Berlin
- Khimki vs. CSKA
- Asvel vs. Zenit
- Barcelona vs. Fenerbahce
- Olympiacos vs. Real Madrid
There is just one egregiously priced game on this slate, and that’s just because Khimki (+15.5!) is so bad.
That may be the thickest EuroLeague basketball betting point spread I’ve seen all year, and unlike usual, I don’t think I want anything to do with it.
Avoiding that game entirely might not be a terrible idea, but even a game with a ghastly spread like that can make you some money.
For the best bets to target on Friday, let’s dive into my EuroLeague predictions, and top betting picks.
Valencia vs. Alba Berlin Predictions
- Valencia to beat Alba Berlin
- Predicted total: 160-165
Valencia is still playing for their playoff lives. If Real Madrid and Zenit collapse, they still have a shot.
I’d expect them to take out an 11-21 Alba Berlin team regardless, but there is so much riding on this game. Despite that, bettors get Valencia at a cool -188.
That’s not so bad for a good team that is 6-3 over their last nine games and needs to win.
Khimki vs. CSKA Predictions
- CSKA to beat Khimki
- Predicted total: 165-170
Khimki scored their fourth win of the year in their last game, which surely means they won’t win again for the rest of the year.
And to see they’re going up against mighty CSKA Moscow, yeah, I’m not biting here. BetOnline has them priced as amazing +847 underdogs, of course, so in the name of YOLO, it’s worth mentioning.
Daring bettors can also point to the absence of star guard Mike James, who has again been suspended.
Dimitris Itoudis clarified that Mike James should not be considered anymore a member of the CSKA Moscow active rosterhttps://t.co/L9TPukva0x— Eurohoops (@Eurohoopsnet) March 30, 2021
Fair, but CSKA proved in their last win that they’re more than one dude.
I would imagine there will be many points here (bet the Over), but Khimki shouldn’t stage the upset against the second-best team in the league.
Asvel vs. Zenit Predictions
- Zenit to beat Asvel
- Predicted total: 150-155
I mentioned Zenit needing to collapse for Valencia to get into the playoffs, so as you can imagine, they have every reason to keep winning.
They have a pretty good shot in this one, as they host a weak Asvel team. I’d imagine they’ll get the job done here, but you need to keep a few things in mind.
First, they only won by 13 in the first meeting, and that was a defensive battle.
That and Asvel Lyon is a better team these days. Sure, they’ve lost five straight, but this losing skid followed a seven-game winning streak.
Oh, and when looking at these five losses, just one has come by more than 10 points. I like Zenit to win, but I think this game stays close.
Barcelona vs. Fenerbahce Predictions
- Barcelona to beat Fenerbahce
- Predicted total: 155-160
You’re getting nice value with Barcelona. They’re locked into the playoffs and have the best record in the league, but they could keep playing for pride here.
Fenerbahce is just as likely to take their foot off the gas, as they’ve already qualified for the playoffs.
Olympiacos vs. Real Madrid Predictions
- Real Madrid to beat Olympiacos
- Predicted total: 150-155
The last game of the day is another playoff-related battle, with Real Madrid needing to win to get one step closer to clinching.
Real Madrid isn’t at full strength these days, of course, and they’ve been inconsistent down the stretch, going just 5-6 over their last 11 contests.
That isn’t great, but they need to win, and they’re the better team in this matchup. Olympiacos did give them a tough fight in a 86-82 shootout earlier this year, of course.
Perhaps that gets you on Olympiacos (+8), while they also are kind of on fire with four wins in their last five. That could spell trouble for Real Madrid, but I expect them to finish strong.
Best EuroLeague Bets for Friday, April 2nd
The EuroLeague basketball picks above are the ones I covet for Friday’s slate. I’d lean toward teams in playoff contention that have a lot to play for and otherwise just nab value that looks too good to pass up.
Barcelona qualifies in that respect, while Valencia is a team that should (and needs to) win. I also think the Over is pretty safe in the Khimki game, as they put up loads of points and never play a lick of defense.
Asvel is also a solid bet against the spread. Zenit could come out focused in a must-win game, but Asvel is simply better than this price indicates.
Hopefully, my favorite EuroLeague bets help you win on Friday.
Good luck, and enjoy the games!
