ESL Pro League Predictions and Best Bets for Tuesday, September 22, 2020
The ESL Pro League 12 schedule sees the conclusion of the North American group stage and we have four crunch matchups to look forward to.
We already have a good idea of which teams will be heading to the playoffs but there’s still a lot to play for and the purpose of my ESL Pro League betting tips post is to analyze the teams’ form and the latest odds and share my view on which markets give you the best value.
You can start off with my two top predictions by following the links below:
And here are the remaining two free picks I have lined up:
100 Thieves vs. Triumph Prediction and Pick
The Thieves’ playoff berth looks pretty much sealed as they head to their final group matchup against the punching bag of the tournament Triumph.
The American organization lost a couple of key pieces in the space of a few months, most notably their main fragger Grim, and haven’t been able to produce a winning formula since then.
However, despite their losing run, they were able to clinch a round in four of their five most recent fixtures, including map wins against big ESL Pro League favorites Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid.
100 Thieves should be able to prevail in the end but they do have a history of choking in these stages a bit, so I can definitely see them making this game tighter than it should be.
The odds for a three-round match are terrific given the circumstances and I simply can’t pass up on the opportunity.
- Pick: Over 2.5 +158
Gen.G vs. Cloud9 Prediction and Pick
Gen.G and Cloud9, two organizations that are currently in rebuild mode, will conclude their ESL Pro League group stage involvement with a clash that promises to be quite unpredictable.
Cloud9 is already out of the playoff picture after picking up just one win, while their opponents are still in with a chance but will have to rely on 100 Thieves losing their matchup with bottom-dwellers Triumph.
It’s clear that these teams have the long-term picture in mind coming into the tie and although I do expect them to show up for the game, the current rosters will be much more interested in what lies ahead for them.
Gen.G is the clear favorite but I’m going for the high price here and will back Cloud9.
Captain JT and his teammates never reached the heights expected of them but they have a great track record of upsetting the odds when the pressure is off.
Given how Gen.G is also struggling mightily right now, I feel this is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the superb price for another surprise Cloud9 win.
- Pick: Cloud9 +114
