ESL Pro League Predictions and Best Bets for Friday, September 18, 2020
The schedule at the ESL Pro League brings us four games to wager on this Friday and the purpose of this post is to establish which markets offer the highest betting value.
I have prepared predictions for all three of the matchups in the European division and the clash taking place in the North American bracket as well.
You can check out the full betting previews for my two ESL Pro League top predictions by following these links and a couple of more picks are available below.
mousesports vs. Team Spirit Prediction and Pick
Russian organization Team Spirit has definitely surprised us all with their performances at the ESL Pro League so far.
Captain chopper and his teammates have thrice defied the odds with momentous victories over elite squads such as Vitality, NiP, and FaZe Clan.
However, I feel mousesports are slowly getting back to top form and ropz in particular has been one of the best players at the tournament so far.
The MouZ boasts much more experience in such events and given how we’re approaching the business end of this group phase, I expect the pressure will have a big impact on Spirit here.
I’m reluctant to use the handicap market as the Russians have won at least a map in all of their previous fixtures but the -118 for an outright mouseports win still gives you great value.
- Pick: mousesports -118
FaZe vs. NiP Prediction and Pick
FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pyjamas have both disappointed at the tournament and this clash between them promises to be highly unpredictable.
NiKo’s team lost all four of the matchups against the top teams in the group and their misery was compounded by a defeat by Team Spirit in the last round.
Nothing has worked for The Clan in this tournament and they have a lot to ponder over before the start of the DreamHack in October, especially with how poorly experienced players like coldzera, broky, and rain have performed.
The Ninjas are not exactly in a much better place but they have at least won one of their matchups and are still have an off chance of making the playoffs.
The bad news is that their main gunmen nawwk has been put on medical leave and will not feature in the remaining fixtures.
Coach THREAT will be acting as a stand-in which immediately puts the team at a disadvantage, however, given how poorly FaZe has performed and the fact NiKo and his guys have nothing to play for here, I’m willing to go for the high prize and back the Ninjas.
You don’t get +190 odds for a NiP win every day, so a small bet here definitely makes sense.
- Pick: NiP +190
If you feel you need more convincing, you can check out this full FaZe vs. NiP betting pick post where I go over the teams’ current state in detail and provide further reasoning behind this prediction.
