Envy vs. MIBR – Friday, November 13, 2020

Both Envy and MIBR lost their opening Flashpoint Season 2 matches, but they have another chance to keep their place in the tournament on Friday. It should be an exciting clash and most bookmakers expect it to be close.

Team Envy had a flying start in Flashpoint Season 2 by completely destroying forZe on Dust 2 and looked pumped. That’s when the opponent fought back to win the next two maps and send Envy to the losers’ bracket of this Group B.

The squad looked rusty and that’s hardly a shocker for a team that has been out of the competitive CS:GO scene for almost 5 months.

It’s hard to expect wonders from Envy under such circumstances, but the side had a respectable run in the opening match. The next one could be even better because we saw how tough MIRB found it on several maps.

I believe that Envy should have the upper hand on at least a couple of them and if the map selection goes well, the team has a chance of winning.

I’m not sure what to make of MIBR’s performance against BIG in the opening match. The team was completely destroyed on two of the three maps played and won just two rounds on both mirage and dust2.

On the other hand, the Brazilians beat one of the best teams in the world on vertigo. I believe this confirms the suspicion that the squad has a very limited map pool.

That’s only natural for a roster that was just assembled and the guys probably need time to improve on other maps. The positive sign is that MIBR’s new players obviously have the talent to compete on the highest level.

I expect to see more from this team in the near future and it’s only a matter of match practice before the squad starts challenging for titles.

I don’t believe that any of the teams can close this one in only two maps. MIBR is the more talented side, but the map pool of the squad is too narrow at this point. That’s why Envy should be able to win its map pick comfortably and the price for over 2.5 is just too good to skip.
