Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Hoffenheim – Bundesliga, October 3, 2020

The German Bundesliga season continues with Matchday 3 over the weekend and brings plenty of interesting games to bet on.

Saturday’s schedule is full of intriguing markets, so I bring you the best Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Hoffenheim betting pick along with the must-read betting tips and trends. 

According to Bovada Sportsbook, the Eagles are slight home favorites to win this game, but the bookies won’t be surprised if it goes the other way.

They are pretty sure we’ll see a proper high-scoring affair with goals on both sides, and I cannot argue with them. Eintracht scored four goals through the first two games of the new season and conceded twice, while Hoffenheim posted a 7:3 goal difference.

The Eagles opened with a disappointing 1-1 home draw against the newcomers Arminia Bielefeld, but they bounced back in style, outlasting Hertha 3-1 as +190 road underdogs last weekend. Eintracht had a 2-0 lead at halftime and controlled the game down the stretch, so Martin Hinteregger’s own goal didn’t hurt at all.

Frankfurt played one more game this term, beating 1860 Munchen 2-1 on the road in the German DFB Pokal.

On the other side, Hoffenheim pulled off a massive upset in the previous round of the German Bundesliga. They thrashed off Bayern Munich 4-1 as +1200 home underdogs.

It was a day to remember for Hoffenheim’s fans, as their beloved club humiliated the reigning German and European champions. Despite having the ball in possession for only 28 percent of the time, Hoffenheim took 17 shots towards Bayern’s goalie and fully deserved to win.

Andrej Kramaric hit the brace against Bayern after scoring a hat-trick in a 3-2 road victory over FC Koln in Matchday 1. The 29-year-old striker will look to extend his hot streak Saturday, so look after him if you like to bet on player props.

Hoffenheim played once in the DFB Pokal, too, defeating Chemnitzer in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation and a 2-2 tie at the end of extra time.

I suggest you avoid the side bet in this one. It could easily go either way, but I wouldn’t be surprised with a draw either. But if you like to follow betting trends, you should know that Eintracht Frankfurt won four straight games against Hoffenheim.

Three of those four encounters between Frankfurt and Hoffenheim saw both teams scoring and produced at least three goals in total. Considering the teams’ current form, I expect to see more of the same Saturday at Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt.

Both these teams prefer an attacking approach and won’t hesitate to push forward in numbers. They will look to earn all three points, so whoever scores first (and I cannot imagine this game finishes in a goalless draw) will continue to attack.

The hosts should have a slight psychological advantage due to their recent head-to-head record with Hoffenheim, but the visitors have just dismantled the European champs and will be keen to remain on the winning path. Therefore, I’m sticking with the totals and both teams to find the net.
