Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears – NFL Week 13, 2020

| December 4, 2020 11:45 am PDT

The Bears host the Lions in week 13 as we look forward to seeing who the King of the jungle will be.

Both sides are on a poor run of form as the Bears have lost 5 straight, and the Lions have only won 1 of their past 5 games.

However, the Bears will take confidence with the knowledge that they have won the last 5 head to head matches between the two sides.

Here’s my Detroit vs. Chicago betting preview.

Lions vs. Bears Odds

Lions +3-105
Bears -3-115
Lions to Win+145
Bears to Win-165
Over 45-110
Under 45-110

The odds for this game pretty much reflect the unreliability of each side.

With that said, the Bears do have a superior head-to-head record of recent games, which has to count for something.

Teams News for Detroit

The Lions fired GM Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia last week and have enlisted offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as interim coach.

Bevell starts his reign in charge with more headaches as he loses Desmond Trufant and Danny Shelton to injuries.

Not forgetting they are already missing star wide receiver Kenny Golladay who is out with a hip injury.

However, they do have players in form individually.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford is closing in on a ninth season to have passed over 3,000 yards. And Adrian Peterson appears to love playing against the Bears, having scored 14 touchdowns in 16 games against Chicago.

Team News for Chicago

The Bears are on a poor run of form, but coach Matt Nagy isn’t hitting the panic button just yet as he faced a similar situation with the Chiefs a few years back, which saw them make a run to the playoffs.

The troubles have largely come in the defense despite Roquan Smith sitting fifth on the most tackles leader board this season.

Smith has been a real rock for the Bears, but he needs some help from his teammates.

Lions vs. Bears Betting Pick

  • Bears to win

This is a close one to call with many unknown factors to try and comprehend.

Given the Bear’s superior head-to-head record of recent years, we have to give the edge to them, especially with the Lion’s injury problems to consider.
