Derek Brunson vs. Kevin Holland – UFC Fight Night, March 20, 2021

| March 19, 2021 5:59 am PDT

If you’re betting on Derek Brunson vs. Kevin Holland this Saturday at the UFC APEX, I guess you’ll be hoping for a fair fight.

Last weekend’s main event between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad ended in a no contest. Let’s hope that one of the fighters above can make bets for UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Holland a little more interesting.

I’ll be looking at the odds for Brunson vs. Holland, as well as some of the best wagers to place on the fight. After that, I’ll be expanding on my Brunson vs. Holland betting pick and predictions, before closing things off with where you can bet on UFC fights this Saturday.

First, here’s who I have winning the fight.

Brunson vs. Holland – Who Wins?

  • Kevin Holland to Win by KO/TKO

Without giving away everything in this Brunson vs. Holland predictions and pick piece too soon, I believe “Trail Blazer” to have the goods to win this Saturday.

As solid as Brunson is, Holland is all kinds of wrong for him. If you’re betting on Brunson vs. Holland, we’ll get to why he is the man to watch later.

First, let’s check out the best odds for the UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Holland main event.

Latest Brunson vs. Holland Odds

Derek Brunson to Win+140
Kevin Holland to Win-170

The betting line for Brunson vs. Holland is hard to argue against.

Holland comes into his first fight of the year having enjoyed an explosive 2020.

The 27-year-old tied the UFC record for most wins in a calendar year, with 5. He finished a special twelve months with a literal bang by way of a first-round KO of MMA and BJJ legend Jacare Souza, at UFC 256, in December.

Brunson’s odds to beat Holland make him a slight underdog with MyBookie.

I can see why some would argue with his price being a little short ahead of this fight. After all, he was +240 ahead of his bout with the undefeated Edmen Shahbazyan in July.

But the fact that he knocked Shahbazyan out — thus handing the Glendale Gym prospect his first professional loss — has the bookies cautious.

Still, I’m not sure there is value in the betting odds for Brunson to beat Holland. So, let’s take a look at the top bets for Holland against Brunson, and try to find something more appealing.

Best Brunson vs. Holland Bets

Holland to Win-170

Fight to End Under 1.5 Rounds+160

If you’re new to betting real money on the fights, our UFC betting guide covers all you need to know.

Among the super-valuable content in that guide is the emphasis on finding betting value. If you’re gambling on Brunson vs. Holland online, don’t sleep on this.

Now, for me, there’s no value in backing Brunson, but the Fight to End Under 1.5 Rounds (+160) is very appealing.

The safer bettors among us might consider gambling on Holland to Win. The odds are solid enough. However, I can’t see this fight going the distance. As such, there’s no need for me to explain why a bet on Holland to KO Brunson is appealing.

It’s not a foregone conclusion, of course. But how about Holland’s power? Consider that he has three first-round KOs from his last five fights and that Brunson has been knocked out in the first round in three of his last four losses.

Why Holland Beats Brunson

I have been impressed by Kevin Holland in recent times.

He has clearly shown vital signs of improvement. His maturity and composure inside the cage have also come along in leaps and bounds, which makes him a much more dangerous prospect than he was just a couple of years ago.

Brunson is a sturdy veteran that has the potential to cause an upset. But if I were betting on UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Holland, or at least the main event, I would want better odds than what is currently on offer for the 37-year-old.

The older man has been stopped by strikes five times in his career. Holland, the larger, younger, and more dynamic of the two, has never been knocked out. This will give him the confidence to take the fight to the center of the cage, and most importantly, to headhunt for another early finish.

I’m predicting a first-round knockout win for Holland.
