I have the feeling that Garbine Muguruza will have a deep run at the 2020 French Open. The Spaniard made it through a rough opening round and looked much stronger in the second. She now faces Danielle Collins in the third.

The American has never reached that stage of the Roland-Garros, but she had never played in the Australian Open before reaching the semifinals in 2019 either.

It’s an interesting match between two players that only faced each other once before. Muguruza came out on top, but her opponent won a set and it wasn’t easy overall.

I don’t think that too many people are surprised by the Danielle Collins vs. Garbine Muguruza odds of the best tennis betting sites. The Spaniard is the favorite in this match and she is expected to close it in two sets.

The early career of Danielle Collins featured mostly ITF events and it didn’t look like she could compete at the highest level of female tennis. However, a wildcard for a WTA tournament in 2018 resulted in a title for the American and that boosted her rankings.

Garbine Muguruza’s run in the 2020 French Open started with a tough match against Tamara Zidansek. The Spaniard was pushed to the limit and allowed 22 break points before closing the clash with an 8-6 victory in the third set.

She had more double faults than aces and looked shaky. This is not the first time Muguruza starts slow in a major, though, as she often needs a match or two to find her rhythm.

The former world number 1 improved dramatically to win the second match against Krystine Pliskova with ease. She was much stronger and her serve was working from start to finish.

Based on her performance in the Italian Open and that second encounter, I believe that the two-time Grand Slam winner might be hungry for more titles. I just don’t see how Danielle Collins could stop her on Saturday.

I believe that Garbine Muguruza has found her rhythm and a player like Danielle Collins can’t beat the Spaniard right now. It should be a comfortable match for the favorite and the odds of -106 for her to cover the -5 games handicap looks fine to me.
