Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting – NFL Week 8, 2020

The Dallas Cowboys continued with catastrophic displays and suffered a fourth defeat in five games and second in a row as they were destroyed by the Washington Football Team in Week 7. After losing Dak Prescott for the year, the Cowboys are practically without a chance to make it to the playoffs, despite the fact that they are playing in the weakest division in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, bounced back from two tight losses with a narrow home victory over the divisional rivals New York Giants, and now are top of the NFC East with a 2-4-1 record. The Dallas Cowboys displayed the worst performance of the season and one of the worst in recent history as they scored a miserable three points in a 25-3 road loss to the Washington Football Team. Dallas totaled just 142 yards and had 12 first downs, while they allowed 397 yards to the rivals and 21 first downs.

Andy Dalton completed nine of 19 passes for 75 yards and one interception. His status for the game against Philadelphia is uncertain after he was hit in a loss to Washington and apparently suffered a concussion. Ben DiNucci came for Dalton and finished the tilt with two completions on three attempts and 39 yards. Amari Cooper caught seven passes for 80 yards, while Ezekiel Elliott had 45 yards on 12 carries. Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith played well on defense and recorded 12 tackles apiece.

The Cowboys are the 19th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 25.1 points per game, 1st in passing yards (316.1), 24th in rushing yards (101.9), while they have the worst defense that allows 34.7 points per contest.

The Philadelphia Eagles were on the brink of a home loss to the New York Giants as they entered the final five minutes with a 21-10 deficit. However, Carson Wentz threw a couple of TD passes in four minutes and helped his team to secure a 22-21 victory. The Eagles forced three turnovers and committed only one on the other end, while they collected 442 yards opposite New York’s 325.

Carson Wentz completed 25 of 43 passes for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while he also added one rushing touchdown in the process. Boston Scott had 46 yards on 12 carries and added one receiving TD, while Greg Ward scored the other TD. Tight end Richard Rodgers led all the receivers with 85 yards on six catches. On the defensive end, Nathan Gerry had eight tackles (four solos) and one sack.

The Eagles are the 23rd team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 23.3 points per game, 24th in passing yards (226.9), 15th in rushing yards (118.6), while they have the 22nd defense that allows 28.0 points per contest.

With the availability of Andy Dalton under the cloud, I am not sure the Cowboys can score a passing touchdown in this one, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles keep them to single digits. The Eagles have a chance to come close to .500 with a win here, and they improved a bit lately, so I am backing them to beat the sorry Cowboys. Dallas lost each of the last six road games, and now that negative run will extend to seven.
