Prediction for Cubs vs. Yankees – Saturday, June 11th, 2022

| June 10, 2022 2:42 pm PDT

Two of the most famous MLB franchises will face off Saturday night as the Chicago Cubs face the New York Yankees. This will be the first time since 2017 that the teams face each other. New York swept the series in Chicago.

There is a noticeable difference between the Cubs and Yankees. New York holds the best record in baseball, while Chicago is ten games under .500. That should make the Cubs vs. Yankees prediction easy, right?

You never know when there’ll be an upset. Check out the Cubs vs. Yankees odds.

Cubs vs. Yankees Odds for June 11th

Chicago Cubs to Win+220
New York Yankees to Win-245
Over 9-110
Under 9-110

The Chicago Cubs vs. New York Yankees pick might not be difficult, considering the odds. It’s hard to expect much else with the gap in the standings between the Cubs and Yankees.

Perhaps we’ll see a closer result with the spread. The Cubs have been the better team, covering in 53.6 percent of their games. The Yankees aren’t far behind, covering in 52.6 percent of their games. Will the trends affect your Cubs vs. Yankees pick?

The run total is on the high side for this matchup. New York has one of the top offenses, but they’ve gone under their run total in 53.6 percent of their games. Chicago has favored the over.

Chicago could have a significant boost to their offense with the potential return of Seiya Suzuki. Suzuki hasn’t played since May 26 after suffering a finger injury. New York has multiple injuries to their pitching staff, but their offense is good for Saturday’s matchup.

Cubs vs. Yankees Preview

Saturday’s matchup between the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees features two teams moving in opposite directions. New York looks as good as ever, winning eight of their last nine games. Meanwhile, the Cubs have lost four of their previous five games.

The Yankees showed resilience Thursday night, overcoming an early 7-3 deficit to defeat the Minnesota Twins. It was a team effort, as six players recorded multiple hits. The Cubs vs. Yankees pick will be easy if they replicate that success.

Aaron Judge continues to lead the Yankees offense. Check out his 2022 numbers.

  • .310 batting average
  • 22 home runs
  • 45 RBIs

The latest 2022 AL MVP odds have Judge as a top contender. It’ll be hard to make a case against him if the Yankees continue their onslaught. Why would my Cubs vs. Yankees pick consider backing the Cubs? Their offense has put up consistent numbers.

Wilson Contreras, Ian Happ, and Nico Hoerner are hitting over .300 in Chicago’s last ten games. Contreras has provided the power, recording four home runs and eight RBIs.

Pitching could be the determining factor in my Cubs vs. Yankees pick. The numbers suggest we could see a low-scoring matchup.

Matt Swarmer (Cubs) Jordan Montgomery (Yankees)
ERA 1.50 3.02
WHIP 0.83 1.01
Walks 3 10
Strikeouts 11 46

Matt Swarmer has only made two starts, but he looked strong in both appearances. He pitched six innings, allowing one run against the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. That’s impressive considering the Cardinals have a top 10 offense.

The Yankees have so many strong pitchers you almost forget about Jordan Montgomery. He hasn’t allowed more than three runs in 11 starts. It won’t be easy against a pesky Cubs offense, but Montgomery is up for the challenge.

Cubs vs. Yankees Same Game Parlay

  • Ian Happ to Record a Hit (-155)
  • Willson Contreras to Record a Hit (-200)
  • DJ LeMahieu to Record an RBI (+190)

Will my same game parlay affect your Chicago Cubs vs. New York Yankees pick? The combination of hits and RBIs gives you (+638) odds.

Ian Happ had a strong start to the 2022 season, but his numbers dropped after hitting .204 in May. He recorded a hit on the final day of May and hasn’t slowed down. Happ has a nine-game hit streak, raising his average from .248 to .267.

Chicago’s offense has looked better lately, and Happ is one of their top players. He has dominated left-handed pitchers, hitting .357. That should continue in Saturday’s matchup against the Yankees.

Happ has been on a hot streak lately, but Willson Contreras has been the best Cubs player in the last two weeks. Check out his numbers since May 26.

  • .314 batting average
  • 5 home runs
  • 9 RBIs
  • 11 runs

There aren’t many players left from Chicago’s 2016 World Series team, but Contreras remains a key contributor. He has been consistent throughout the season and enters this matchup playing his best baseball. He should continue his hot streak against New York.

New York’s offense has been among the best in the majors this season, but we haven’t heard much from DJ LeMahieu. LeMahieu ended May with a two-RBI game against the Los Angeles Angels. We haven’t seen him slow down in June.

He has nine RBIs in his last nine games, recording one in seven of those nine games. LeMahieu hits in front of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, but we still see RBI opportunities.

Can he extend his streak on Saturday?

Cubs vs. Yankees Pick

My Pick: Chicago Cubs to Win (+220)Bet on the Cubs at BetOnline

My Chicago Cubs vs. New York Yankees prediction may surprise some people, but I believe we’ll see a closer matchup than people think. Because of that, it makes sense to take the value.

The Cubs’ offense isn’t far off the Yankees’. Pitching has been the key difference, but Matt Swarmer’s 2022 success gives me confidence in a potential upset. Most people likely won’t agree with my Cubs vs. Yankees prediction, but do you want to miss the value?
