Crystal Palace vs. Burnley – EPL, February 13, 2021

Both these teams have struggled without important attacking players in recent weeks, and it may well be that this game on Saturday is a battle of attrition in the middle of the pitch.
Burnley is not exactly known for its expansive play at the best of times and could look at ‘not losing’ as the most important tactic here.
Crystal Palace vs. Burnley Odds
BetOnline makes Palace the favorite to win this game, but there is little evidence that the south London club has what it takes to overcome a stubborn Burnley. Neither of these two has really impressed this season, and the odds for the draw look more tempting, even if the game itself isn’t.
Crystal Palace vs. Burnley Match Preview
Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace continues to drop points without being able to rely on Wilfried Zaha for a moment of magic to swing a game. Jean-Philippe Mateta was brought in from Mainz to provide goals but wasn’t able to adapt quickly enough in the defeat to Leeds on Monday.
But the French striker didn’t really get much help from the rest of his team. The home side eased to a victory that left Palace in 13th, but only six points ahead of Burnley – who is way down in 18th and only just above the relegation zone. The Eagles seem to need Zaha to get anything these days – and he will be missing again on Saturday.
Burnley might be able to welcome back its own goal scorer, Chris Wood, though. The New Zealand international is still doubtful for a return to action, but there is a slight possibility that he could make an appearance. Burnley could do with its top striker after going winless in the last three EPL games.
Without any new signings in the January transfer window – even though new owners took over the club – Sean Dyche is left with a threadbare squad to attempt to escape another relegation battle. Burnley will fight all the way and, if Wood is absent again, that could mean defensive tactics for this fixture.
Crystal Palace vs. Burnley Pick
-
The Draw+215
Without Zaha, it is difficult to be confident backing Crystal Palace to win any game – even one against a team below it in the table. There just isn’t the same cutting edge without the Ivory Coast international. Burnley, on the other hand, will play its usual determined way – and that could mean a point for each side.
