Crotone vs. Juventus – Serie A, October 17, 2020
The Italian Serie A betting action goes on over the weekend with Matchday 4, so I’m bringing you the best Crotone vs. Juventus betting pick.
Crotone returned to Serie A last summer, but the Pythagoreans are having some tough time, sitting bottom of the Serie A standings after the first three rounds.
On the other side, the reigning champs are laying in fourth place at the moment, looking for their first road victory of the season.
Crotone vs. Juventus Odds
Juventus is a firm fave to beat Crotone, according to Bovada Sportsbook, and the reigning champs will be listed as favorites in almost every single Matchday for the rest of the season.
If you’re not satisfied with the odds, there’s always an option to bet on Juventus to cover the spread, while Crotone is a +175 underdog to stay undefeated. In their previous home matchup with Juventus back in 2018, the Pythagoreans earned a 1-1 draw.
Crotone vs. Juventus Preview
Crotone failed to record a single point through the first three rounds of the 2020-21 Serie A season. The Pythagoreans opened with a 4-1 defeat at Genoa; they lost to AC Milan 2-0 in Matchday 2, and Crotone suffered another 4-1 defeat at Sassuolo in the previous round.
Allowing 10 goals in the first three weeks of the new season is always a bad sign, and Crotone will have to work hard if they want to avoid relegation. It’s still early in the season, but the Pythagoreans don’t look good on the pitch.
While Crotone has struggled thus far, Juventus earned seven points while posting an 8:2 goal difference. The Old Lady easily defeated Sampdoria 3-0 at home in the opener. Matchday 2 brought a tough road matchup with AS Roma, but the reigning champs pulled off a 2-2 draw even though they trailed twice.
Two weeks ago, Juventus supposed to welcome Napoli in Matchday 3, but the visitors declined to travel for the clash in Turin. Therefore, Juve has been awarded a 3-0 victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo leads the way for Juventus with three goals in two appearances, but the legendary striker won’t play against Crotone after testing positive for COVID-19. Defenders Alex Sandro and Matthijs de Ligt, and midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Weston McKennie are unavailable for Matchday 4, too.
Crotone vs. Juventus Pick
Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence is a huge blow for the Old Lady, but the reigning champs shouldn’t have any problems to outlast Crotone even with Ronaldo on the sidelines.
This will be a chance for Paulo Dybala, Alvaro Morata, and Dejan Kulusevski to step up, and with so many talented forwards on their roster, I have to take Juventus to cover a 1-goal spread at -130 odds.
Crotone will defend in numbers, no doubt, and the hosts will have a mountain to climb on the other side of the ball. Juventus’ stout defense is another reason why I’m backing the visitors to cover.
The Pythagoreans are riding a four-game losing streak, and all four defeats came by two or more goals. Juventus, on the other side, is winless in five straight Serie A games on the road, and that terrible streak has to come to an end.
Also, Juventus’ last two wins away from home came by exactly two goals.
