Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview – NFL Week 10, 2020

The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, November 15, as the NFL betting action continues with Week 10. 

These two AFC North foes will meet each other for the first time this season, and the Steelers have owned the Bengals over the last five years, winning their previous ten encounters. 

Cincy will try its best to put an end to this horrible streak, promising an interesting clash at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, so here’s my best Bengals vs. Steelers betting pick for the upcoming Sunday.

I expected to see the Steelers around ten points, but they opened as 7.5-point favorites on Bovada Sportsbook. Still, keep tracking some of the best online sportsbooks, as the odds could easily change in the next few days if we get some early action on the Steelers.

The Bengals spent the previous week on a bye, coming off a surprising 31-20 home victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. They upset the AFC South leaders as 7-point underdogs thanks to another terrific performance by rookie Joe Burrow, improving to 2-5-1 on the season.

Burrow threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns against the Titans, while Giovani Bernard had 15 carries for 62 yards and a TD. The Bengals missed Joe Mixon due to a foot injury, and their starting RB should return against the Steelers.

The Bengals are doing a solid job offensively, scoring 24.3 points per game (20^th in the NFL), but they allowed 28 sacks which are the most in the league. Cincinnati’s offensive line is a problem, as well as the Bengals’ defense that is yielding 26.8 points (20^th) on 400.9 total yards per contest (27^th).

Cincy is allowing a whopping 144.3 rushing yards per game (29^th).

The Steelers were listed as massive 14-point road favorites in Week 9, but they barely outlasted the banged-up Dallas Cowboys 24-19. Pittsburgh was trailing for most of the game, but the Steelers won the fourth quarter 15-0, as Ben Roethlisberger tossed a couple of TD passes in the final 15 minutes.

Big Ben finished 29-from-42 for 306 yards and three touchdowns, but the Steelers struggled mightily on the ground, racking up just 46 rushing yards against the Cowboys’ D.

Anyway, they improved to 8-0 on the season, and the Steelers are 6-2 against the spread. Pittsburgh is scoring 29.4 points per game (5^th in the league) while surrendering only 20.1 in a return (4^th). The Steelers’ defense is ninth in rushing yards (102.8) and fifth in passing yards (214.6).

I expect the Steelers’ front seven to destroy the Bengals’ offensive line. Guys like T.J. Watt, Cameron Hayward, and Stephon Tuitt will torture Joe Burrow, and the Steelers’ mighty defense should make the difference.

On the other side, the Bengals played some good D against the Titans. Their run defense looked surprisingly good, but the Steelers have so many dangerous weapons in their arsenal and can hurt the Bengals both through the air and on the ground.

The Steelers are 6-2-2 ATS in their last ten matchups with the Bengals. They should have learned a lesson in Dallas last weekend, so I’m backing the Steelers to win at home by a TD, at least.
