The Colts are still considered as a strong playoff contender despite a couple of losses in the first five rounds. Therefore, I’m not surprised to see them as clear favorites in this one, but the bookies might have underestimated the Bengals with an 8-point spread.

Indy has one of the best defenses in football, so bookmakers don’t expect to see a bunch of points, setting the line at 46.5 points.

After earning their first win of the season back in Week 4, the Bengals were humiliated in Baltimore this past Sunday. They lost to the Ravens 27-3 as 13.5-point underdogs, scoring a lone field goal in the dying moments of the fourth quarter.

Joe Burrow is enjoying a nice rookie season, but he was tortured by the Ravens for all 60 minutes. The 23-year-old signal-caller fought for his life for most of the game, suffering seven sacks and completing only 19 passing attempts for 183 yards and one interception.

The Bengals racked up only 205 total yards, and their offensive line was completely helpless to provide anything good. Hereof, Joe Mixon finished the game with 24 carries for 59 yards.

Cincy is now 1-3-1 on the season, scoring just 20.4 points per game (29^th in the league) and yielding 25.2 in a return (17^th). While their defense is doing a solid job, the Bengals’ offense seems very limited mostly because of its awful offensive line. At least, the Bengals are 3-1-1 ATS after Week 5.

The Colts snapped a three-game win streak this past Sunday, losing at the Cleveland Browns 32-23. They had a few chances to avoid their second defeat in 2020 but blew it mostly thanks to Philip Rivers.

The 38-year-old had a terrible day in the office, making some rookie mistakes down the stretch including the intentional grounding in the end zone that led to a nine-point deficit. It was a key moment in what should have been a thrilling finish, while Rivers ended the game with 21 competed passes for 243 yards and two interceptions.

Indy is now scoring 25.2 points per game (17^th) while surrendering just 17.6 in a return (2^nd). The Colts are 3-2 SU and ATS on the season, while they are 4-1 SU and ATS in the last five outings at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts’ pass D is the best in the league, so I expect them to shut down the Bengals. Also, the Colts will have a clear plan on how to deal with Joe Burrow, especially after the Bengals’ humiliating defeat in Baltimore (it was ugly watching the Ravens’ D sacking Burrow literally at will).

The hosts should win this game, but I don’t feel comfortable with an 8-point spread. The Colts’ offense has a lot of problems to deal with, and the Bengals’ D could be up to the task. Therefore, I’m buying a few points on the totals and taking the under.
