The Chicago White Sox will square off against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday night in the third of a four-game series at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

The ChiSox thrashed off the Royals 11-6 in the opener last Thursday, recording their sixth victory in seven encounters with Kansas City excluding the second clash of this series. Also, it was Chicago’s fourth straight win at Kauffman Stadium in 2020.

I’ve prepared all the betting tips and notes for Saturday’s AL Central showdown along with the best White Sox vs. Royals betting pick, while you can get more tips and analysis on our daily sports betting page.

White Sox vs. Royals Odds

White Sox -1.5+100
Royals +1.5-120
White Sox to Win-215
Royals to Win+195
Over 9.0-115
Under 9.0-105

The White Sox are undoubtedly one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2020 MLB season. They were second in the AL Central with a 23-15 record on Friday, nine games ahead of the bottom-placed Royals who dropped to 14-24 after that ugly loss on Thursday.

Chicago has dominated Kansas City last time at Kauffman Stadium and will start its top ace on Saturday, so they are listed as firm -215 favorites to beat the Royals. The odds could change slightly until the first pitch, so keep tracking the latest updates on some of the top MLB betting sites.

White Sox vs. Royals Preview

Lucas Giolito will take the hill for the ChiSox in this one, tallying his ninth start of the season. The righty is 3-2 with a 3.14 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 66/18 K/BB ratio in 48.2 innings of work.

Two weeks ago, Giolito tossed a no-hitter against the Pirates, but he’s allowed four runs on five hits across five innings against the Twins last time out. Lucas is 6-2 with a 2.75 ERA in his 12 career starts against the Royals.

On the other side, the Royals will start Kris Bubic for the seventh time in 2020. The southpaw rookie is 0-4 with a poor 5.46 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, and 27/12 K/BB ratio in 28 innings of work, while he’s getting the ChiSox for the third time this season.

Back in July, Bubic was charged for a loss in Royals’ 3-2 defeat to the White Sox, as he surrendered three runs on three hits and a walk in four innings. Last week, he pitched 5.1 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox, yielding a couple of earned runs on six hits while walking two and striking out eight.

White Sox vs. Royals Pick

The White Sox are one of the best offensive teams in the majors this year. They score 5.21 runs per game (7th in the MLB) while posting the second-best batting average (.267) and slugging percentage (.474).

Hereof, I’m looking for a comfortable victory by the visitors. They already know Kris Bubic well, so the White Sox’ bat should be all over the 23-year-old rookie. With Lucas Giolito on the mound, the White Sox shouldn’t have any problems winning this game.

However, the odds are not tempting at -215, so I suggest you take the White Sox to cover at +100. In their last six encounters with the Royals excluding Friday’s contest, the White Sox have covered four times.

  • White Sox -1.5
