London’s iconic Wembley Stadium is the venue for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final showdown between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Liverpool is the most successful club in the tournament’s history, having clinched eight titles over the years. On the flip side, the Blues have five EFL Cup crowns to their name. Both sides know what it takes to secure the silverware.

In the Premier League standings, second-place Liverpool leads third-place Chelsea by ten points. Due to the Reds’ recent hot streak, the gulf between the two teams has grown in recent weeks.

If you’re here for my Carabao Cup final prediction, I suggest you keep reading. Not only will I be sharing my prediction with you, but I will also provide my betting pick for Chelsea vs. Liverpool.

2022 Carabao Cup Final Odds – Chelsea vs. Liverpool

Chelsea to Win3.30
The Draw3.00
Liverpool to Win2.25
Chelsea to Lift the Cup2.25
Liverpool to Lift the Cup1.65

All the leading soccer betting sites view Liverpool as the favorite to triumph at Wembley. Jurgen Klopp’s men are priced at 2.25 to seal the deal inside 90 minutes, with Chelsea at 3.30. You can get odds of 3.00 for the draw.

Should the final go to extra-time and/or penalties, the Reds are favored to lift the cup at 1.65. The Blues are priced at 2.25 to secure the trophy after normal time.

Let’s take a closer look at both sides before settling on a Chelsea vs. Liverpool prediction and pick.

Chelsea Team News and Analysis

Chelsea heads into Sunday’s showdown on a six-game winning streak in all competitions. Earlier this month, Thomas Tuchel’s side clinched the FIFA Club World Cup before beating Lille in the UEFA Champions League.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Londoners have lost just one of their previous 19 outings across all competitions.

Given that Chelsea sits 13 points behind first-place Manchester City in the EPL standings, Tuchel’s men are all but out of the title race. But they still have the chance to win multiple trophies this season. They already have one foot in the UCL quarter-finals and should progress in the FA Cup.

Although Romelu Lukaku has failed to make an impact since returning to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea isn’t struggling to score goals at the moment. Guys like Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech are performing well, with the latter scoring in his last three EPL appearances.

Tuchel only arrived at Chelsea in January 2021, but he has already won the Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup. It wouldn’t be a shock if he guided the Blues to another title this weekend.

Liverpool Team News and Analysis

If you think Chelsea’s winning streak is impressive, wait until you hear about Liverpool’s current run.

Klopp’s boys have won each of their past NINE matches in all competitions, including six straight Premier League victories. Better still, they are currently enjoying a 12-game unbeaten stretch.

The Reds crushed Leeds United 6-0 last time out, with both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane bagging a brace. Not only did they enjoy 64% possession on Wednesday, but they also racked up 23 shots – 15 of which were on target.

Having led Senegal to Africa Cup of Nations glory earlier this month, Mane is on fire at the moment. Even so, Salah remains the star of the show at Anfield. Although Salah’s Egypt lost to Mane’s Senegal in the AFCON final, Salah is arguably the best player on the planet right now.

Salah has bagged an outrageous 27 goals and ten assists in 31 games across all competitions this season. Given that he used to play for Chelsea, he will surely be eager to get the better of his former club on Sunday.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool Carabao Cup Final Prediction

Sunday’s showdown is destined to be a tense affair. With a place on the Wembley winner’s podium up for grabs, both the managers and players are bound to approach the game with a degree of caution.

That said, I think Liverpool has the upper hand ahead of the final. The Merseysiders have won each of their last nine games, keeping six clean sheets in the process. At the opposite end of the pitch, they have been scoring goals for fun.

It is also worth examining the head-to-head record here. Unfortunately for Chelsea, Liverpool’s recent record in this fixture is excellent. Klopp’s men have lost just one of their past five meetings with Chelsea and have suffered only two defeats in the previous ten.

Having taken everything into consideration, I’m confident that the Reds will secure their ninth EFL Cup title this weekend.

Carabao Cup Final Betting Pick – Chelsea vs. Liverpool

  • Liverpool to Lift the Cup

If you’re feeling brave, backing Liverpool to win inside 90 minutes offers great value at 2.25. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea pushes Liverpool all the way. For that reason, I’m simply backing the Reds to lift the cup.

Granted, the Blues are in fine form at the moment. But Liverpool is on another level. I fully expect the Merseysiders to claim their first Carabao Cup triumph under Klopp.
