Chelsea vs. Leicester City – 2021 FA Cup Final
Chelsea and Leicester City meet at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 15, for one of the standout fixtures on the English soccer calendar – the FA Cup final.
The finalists are only separated by two points in the EPL table, with fourth-place Chelsea sitting just behind third-place Leicester.
The Foxes beat the Blues 2-0 back in January, handing Frank Lampard the sack. But since then, Thomas Tuchel has transformed Chelsea and guided the club to the Champions League final.
Need to say, this is destined to be an intriguing battle!
If you’re betting on the FA Cup final, you’ll want to keep reading. Below, I look at the FA Cup final odds before sharing my Chelsea vs. Leicester City prediction and pick.
Chelsea vs. Leicester City Odds
All the leading online sportsbooks view Chelsea as the favorite to lift the trophy. The Blues are priced at 1.86 to seal the deal inside 90 minutes and 1.41 to win the cup after extra time and/or penalties.
Given that this is a one-off game, there is value everywhere you look here. At 3.60, the draw feels like an excellent option. Nobody would be overly surprised if Leicester ended up securing the silverware, too.
Let’s take a closer look at the teams.
FA Cup Final Preview
As it’s turned out, Leicester’s victory over Chelsea back in January has proved to be a huge turning point in Chelsea’s season. Lampard was fired soon after, leaving Tuchel to pick up the pieces. But Tuchel has done a lot more than just pick up the pieces.
The ex-PSG head coach has only lost three of his 26 matches in all competitions since taking over at Stamford Bridge, leading the Londoners to a UCL final while all but securing a top-four finish in the process.
Better still, Tuchel has gotten the better of countless top teams along the way. Chelsea has knocked Atletico Madrid, Porto, and Real Madrid out of the UCL under his watch and has also beaten Manchester City twice.
The Blues haven’t scored tons of goals recently, but they haven’t conceded many, either. In fact, they have kept 18 clean sheets in 26 games since Tuchel arrived. That’s a shutout rate of almost 70%!
With young stars like Mason Mount and Kai Havertz seemingly hitting form at just the right time, the Londoners will be confident of adding an eighth FA Cup to their trophy cabinet.

Given that I have just praised Tuchel’s work at Chelsea, it wouldn’t be fair to talk about Leicester without mentioning Brendan Rodgers.
The Northern Irishman is enjoying another stellar campaign at the King Power Stadium and looks set to guide the Foxes to Champions League soccer next season – finishing ahead of so-called “big six clubs” like Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal.
After seeing off Stoke and Brentford in the early rounds of the FA Cup, Leicester beat Brighton before knocking out Manchester United in the quarter-finals. Rodgers’ men then booked their spot in the showpiece with a victory over Southampton.
Kelechi Iheanacho has undoubtedly been the star of the show for Leicester lately. The Nigerian forward has bagged 15 goals and three assists in his last 17 appearances, including four goals and one assist in three FA Cup games.
The Foxes are to upset the odds on Saturday, expect Iheanacho to be at the heart of the action.
Chelsea vs. Leicester Prediction and Pick
Chelsea to Win1.86
If you’re looking for a safe bet for the FA Cup final, backing Chelsea to win the cup at 1.41 is the way to go. However, I can see the Blues getting the job done in normal time on Saturday, so the Chelsea win is my FA Cup final betting pick.
Tuchel’s men have been relentless over the past few months, while the Foxes have struggled for consistency at times. With that in mind, Chelsea should be able to beat Leicester and clinch their first FA Cup triumph since 2017/18.
