Chelsea vs. Krasnodar – Champions League Betting, December 8, 2020

| December 7, 2020 3:35 am PDT

A draw would be enough to see Chelsea seal top spot in Group E when Krasnodar visits Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, December 8.

The Russians currently sit third – three points ahead of Rennes and six points behind Sevilla. The best they can hope for is a place in the Europa League.

If you’re planning to wager on this Champions League clash, make sure you check out my Chelsea vs. Krasnodar prediction and betting pick below.

Chelsea vs. Krasnodar Odds

Chelsea to Win 1.30
The Draw 5.75
Krasnodar to Win 9.25

Chelsea (1.30) holds a giant nine-point lead on Krasnodar (9.25) in Group E, so I’m really not surprised that the sportsbooks view the Blues as the clear favorites to win this matchup.

Frank Lampard’s side is unbeaten in the Champions League this term (four wins, one draw), while the Russian club has only managed to win one UCL match (one draw, four defeats).

Chelsea vs. Krasnodar Preview

The Blues enhanced their EPL title credentials with a 3-1 victory over Leeds United on Saturday. Goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma, and Christian Pulisic handed Chelsea the win, with frontrunners Tottenham and Liverpool just two points ahead at the top of the table.

Following Giroud’s remarkable four-goal haul against Sevilla last week, Lampard has a welcome selection dilemma on his hands. Chelsea’s squad is packed with attacking talent, but it is difficult to leave the veteran Frenchman out of the team right now.

Lampard’s men are now unbeaten in their last 13 outings in all competitions. It is no secret that the Blues’ forwards have been prolific in recent games, but it is also important to remember just how solid Chelsea’s backline has been.

Not team has conceded fewer goals in the Champions League this season, while only Spurs have a better defensive record in the Premier League. It’s fair to say that Chelsea is looking seriously strong at both ends of the pitch at the moment.

Krasnodar managed to pick up their first UCL win of the season last week, beating Rennes 1-0. The French side battled hard on Matchday 5, yet a single Marcus Berg strike gifted the Russians all three points.

The top two spots in Group E have been wrapped up for a while now, although last week’s victory has given Krasnodar the edge when it comes to sealing third place. The continent’s top clubs view the Europa League as a hindrance, but I’m sure the Bulls will be more than happy to drop down.

In fairness, Murad Musayev’s men have been tough opponents in the Champions League this term. A 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea is difficult to ignore, but they managed to push Sevilla all the way on two occasions – losing 3-2 away and 2-1 at home.

The Bulls head into Matchday 6 on the back of a 5-0 victory over Rotor in the Russian Premier League. Viktor Clasesson and Ari both scored twice on Saturday, so they will be hoping to maintain their form when they visit London.

Chelsea vs. Krasnodar Pick

  • Chelsea to Win

Chelsea may have already secured a place in the Round of 16, but Lampard will be eager for his side to finish the group stage on a high and cap off Group E with a win on Tuesday.

Following a couple of promising results, Krasnodar will be quietly confident of causing an upset at Stamford Bridge. Having said that, anything other than a home win would be a big shock.
