Chelsea vs. Brighton and Hove Albion – English Premier League, April 20, 2021

Chelsea knocked Manchester City out of the FA Cup on Saturday and reached the final in what has become a very successful London side.
Thomas Tuchel’s appointment has been the main reason for that, and Brighton will have to work out how to emulate West Brom and Porto as the only teams to beat Chelsea since the German coach arrived.
Chelsea vs. Brighton Odds
Chelsea hasn’t lost much this year, so it is no surprise that BetOnline has it to beat Brighton at home on Tuesday. But I would probably have the odds for the Seagulls to win this one as much longer.
The home side may show some tiredness after the semifinal win at Wembley at the weekend, but I think it will still have enough to overcome Brighton.
Chelsea vs. Brighton Match Preview
Manchester City’s dreams of a quadruple were ended on Saturday as Chelsea reached its fourth FA Cup final in just five seasons. It has only been victorious on one of those occasions, so there is still a lot of work to be done. The victory over City did show that this Chelsea team can give anyone a good game, as they have vastly improved since earlier in the season.
The loss to Porto also came after Chelsea started with a convincing lead from the first leg. Not all the top names have quite shone so far in this side – but there have been more than enough success stories.
Brighton boss Graham Potter will probably be hoping that the exertion of an FA Cup semifinal at Wembley will have enough effect on the Chelsea players to allow his side to take advantage. The Seagulls always play an attractive brand of soccer but don’t always make it pay.
He will also hope that his side still has a seven-point lead over Fulham as it battles to escape relegation to the Championship. If that is the case, it will ease off the pressure to get anything from this game. With just six fixtures remaining, Brighton would just about be fine in planning for another season on the Premier League.
Chelsea vs. Brighton Betting Pick
-
Chelsea to Win-169
Even though Brighton will be more rested than the home side here, I still cannot see how Chelsea doesn’t end up winning.
Tuchel has completely transformed the side from when Frank Lampard was in charge – and now Chelsea can feel as though Champions League qualification is well within its grasp.
