Burnley vs. Leeds United – English Premier League, May 15, 2021
Burnley is now safe after beating Fulham on Monday. They will look to the three remaining games as a chance to relax and enjoy life in the top flight.
Leeds is up next on Saturday, though – and Marcelo Bielsa’s side rarely gives an opponent an easy day. Nothing is riding on this fixture, but it could be an interesting encounter.
Burnley vs. Leeds United Latest Odds
It feels like BetOnline has taken into account the end-of-season vibe surrounding this game; I would have thought that Leeds might be more fancied to pick up another three points at Turf Moor.
The Yorkshire club’s away form has not been too bad, and I don’t think that the home win bet is worth much consideration.
Burnley vs. Leeds United Preview
Burnley booked its sixth successive Premier League season with the win that sent Fulham down on Monday. Sean Dyche can finally relax and begin planning for next year. With new owners, the Clarets manager might even be able to invest heavily in the transfer market for once.
He does already have some underrated players at the club, though. New Zealand international Chris Wood would seem to be the pick of the bunch, and he will be the main threat against Leeds on Saturday after scoring his 12th goal of the season against Fulham.
It is very rare that the Leeds players don’t give it their all, so we can expect the usual attacking, pressing play from the Elland Road club on Saturday. Bielsa has no new injury worries, so this should be a strong side to take on Burnley. The win against Spurs last weekend was the first in four games, so Leeds will want to pick up a few more points before the end of the season.
It took a solitary Patrick Bamford penalty to beat the Clarets earlier in the season, and the striker scored again in that impressive victory over Spurs. It has been an excellent season for the young forward who had been criticized for not having what it takes to play at the top level. He might well prove that wrong again on Saturday.
My Burnley vs. Leeds United Betting Pick
Burnley had done enough in February and March to remove any real fear of relegation this season. But the win against Fulham will take the pressure off of a group of players who are generally overlooked when it comes to talking about the EPL.
Leeds attracts far more attention from the media, but it might not be able to overcome a stable and stubborn Burnley this weekend.
