Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory – A-League, April 25, 2021

Perth claimed a 3-1 victory over Brisbane back in February. Since then, the Western Australians have only managed to win one of their last ten matches.
By contrast, Warren Moon’s men have suffered just one defeat since losing to the Glory – and they head into Sunday’s clash on the back of two straight wins.
Can the Roar extend their unbeaten streak to five games when Perth visits Dolphin Stadium on April 25? I assess the A-League odds before sharing my Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory prediction and pick.
Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory Odds
Not only do the Roar (1.83) sit five points clear of the Glory (3.85) on the A-League ladder, but they also have a game in hand over Richard Garcia’s side.
Although a lot has changed since then, it is important to remember that Perth beat Brisbane a couple of months ago. Moon’s men have found some form, while the Glory can’t seem to stop the rot.
Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory Match Preview
Having secured two draws and two wins in their previous four outings, the Roar are currently enjoying their longest unbeaten streak since the opening weeks of the season.
Moon’s men chalked up four straight wins across January and February before a damaging eight-match winless run threatened to derail their season. However, an upturn in form has enhanced the club’s Finals Series hopes.
After seeing off Macarthur 2-1, Brisbane beat the Wanderers by the same scoreline last weekend. The Roar now sits just two points outside the top six – and they have three games in hand over sixth-place Western Sydney.
At the start of the season, it was all about Dylan Wenzel-Halls. The forward bagged five goals and two assists across the first five games. But in recent times, Riku Danzaki has eased Wenzel-Halls’ workload – netting in each of the past three matches.
If they can start contributing simultaneously, Brisbane will be difficult to stop.

It’s fair to say that Perth’s top-six aspirations are now hanging by a thread.
Things were looking up for the Glory when they sealed their third straight win against Brisbane back in February, but they have only managed to record one victory since then.
The Western Australians ended a five-match winless streak by beating Newcastle 2-1 at the end of March. However, they have since suffered three defeats – losing to Macarthur, Sydney FC, and Wellington.
Garcia’s men enjoyed plenty of possession (62%-38%) and dominated the shot count (21-14) last weekend, but they ended up losing 3-1 to the Nix.
Only last-place Melbourne Victory has a poorer defensive record than Perth. Having conceded 32 goals in 16 games (two goals per game), the Glory look set to struggle against the Roar’s free-flowing forward line.
Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory Betting Pick
-
Brisbane Roar to Win1.83
At the end of the day, the clash brings together two teams in contrasting forms. Brisbane is currently enjoying a four-match unbeaten streak, while Perth heads into Sunday’s meeting on a dismal run of just one win in ten games.
Worryingly for the Glory, Moon’s men have been ruthless in attack recently. I’m sure that guys like Wenzel-Halls and Danzaki will be licking their lips at the prospect of exploiting Perth’s leaky defense.
The home win is my Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory prediction.
