Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Everton – English Premier League, April 12, 2021

Brighton continues to look like the most likely to stay up this season out of all the near bottom-of-the-table teams. But it has a nasty habit of losing after taking the lead in games.

This Monday sees Everton visit the south coast and the Merseyside club is determined to gain some more points to breathe new life into its hopes of European qualification.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Everton Odds

Brighton and Hove Albion to Win +133
The Draw+215
Everton to Win+215

BetOnline has made the home side the favorite to win this on Monday, but there is little evidence to back Brighton at home this season.

The Seagulls have only two at the AMEX and will be facing a determined Everton. The draw or away win bets look better value to me.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Everton Match Preview

Brighton took the lead at Old Trafford last week but ended up with a familiar feeling after playing well but leaving empty-handed. Graham Potter has undoubtedly put together a talented team but must be wondering what else he can do to ensure that it wins some points.

The Seagulls could start this game just three points ahead of Fulham, so there is absolutely no room for error now. The London club has been looking like it will catch Newcastle or Brighton in its bid to escape the drop – and Brighton has to do all it can to make sure that it is not the one that takes its place in the bottom three.

Everton also has a lot to play for in the remaining games of the season, though. The Toffees have a game in hand on all the clubs above it in the Premier League table, so a win here would help greatly with their hopes of qualifying for one of the European competitions this season.

The Champions League might be asking a little too much, but there is a good chance for the Europa League or Europa Conference League.

Carlo Ancelotti has a few injury worries in his midfield for this one – and Robin Olsen is likely to start in goal – but the forward line looks ready to go. Brighton’s defense could be a little busy on Monday.

Prediction and Pick

  • Everton to Win

James Rodriguez played in his first game since the Merseyside derby last weekend at Palace – and scored his side’s goal in a 1-1 draw.

If the Colombian midfielder can stay fit for the rest of the campaign, Everton must have a chance of qualifying for Europe and beating Brighton in the final game of this round of fixtures.
