Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Burnley – EPL, November 6
It seems to be the same situation every week for these two clubs, but Friday’s clash is a real crunch game for both Brighton and Burnley.
They have just six points – and one victory – between them and it already looks as though this season is going to be an uphill struggle.
Brighton vs. Burnley Odds
Burnley did look slightly better against Chelsea at the weekend but is finding it hard to get anything in any game this season. The odds for an away win seem a little big but still not enough to really interest.
Brighton might struggle against the physicality of the Clarets though, so the draw bet looks the best value here.
Brighton vs. Burnley Match Preview
Brighton just could not contain Spurs on Sunday and fell to a first goal for Gareth Bale since his return to the EPL. The Seagulls actually played fairly well but never really looked like getting anything from the game – even when teenage sensation Tariq Lamptey made it 1-1 just before the hour mark.
It says something about the Brighton side that its main attacking threat – and standout player – is a defender. Lamptey is an excellent prospect and the club really needs to make sure that he doesn’t leave in the January transfer window. He’s exactly the type of player that Brighton desperately needs.
Burnley is in dire need of a few new players as well, but until the proposed takeover bid goes through, Sean Dyche will need to carry on with the squad he has at the moment. That would be a fairly limited group of players, but it performed quite well against Chelsea last week before relenting to the tide of attacking play from the far wealthier club.
That result left the Clarets at the bottom of the table with just one point to show from its efforts so far. It is difficult to see how this team changes that picture this season and although games against clubs like Brighton are important, every single point needs to be fought for this year.
Brighton vs. Burnley Betting Pick
I’m not sure I share the level of optimism and belief that the bookmakers show in Brighton to take all three points on Friday, as the latest round of EPL fixtures kicks off. Captain Lewis Dunk is still suspended and Chris Wood may well be able to bully the Brighton defense in his absence. A keenly fought draw could be the eventual outcome.
