Brighton and Hove Albion vs. West Bromwich Albion – EPL, October 26, 2020
Brighton and West Brom come together on Monday in the EPL with just one win between them and many believing that one, or both, will be facing relegation later in the season.
With both sides experiencing tough starts to their campaigns, this fixture will be seen as a real chance to get some more points on the board by both managers.
Latest Brighton vs. West Brom Odds
I can understand why BetOnline has installed Brighton as the favorite to win this game at home on the south coast. But I think as good a manager as Graham Potter is, the Seagulls could struggle this year. West Brom is not that much better but the draw, or even the away win, should be considered here.
Brighton vs. West Brom Match Preview
Brighton may have been happy with the stoppage time goal that earned it a point in its derby game with Crystal Palace last weekend, but the loss of Lewis Dunk for three games after receiving a red card right at the end could really affect the club’s chances here.
Without the stewardship of the captain at the heart of the defense, Brighton could struggle to contain the attacking moves of a West Brom side that does have some talent in that department. Potter will be hoping that he can rely on Adam Lallana once again in Dunk’s absence.
West Brom manager Slaven Bilic will no doubt tinker with his tactics to exploit the gap left by Dunk – and that might just be able to bring a first win of the season to the newly promoted club. He would probably be happy just to see his team score a goal after two barren games.
The draw with Burnley on Monday will be regarded as a chance missed and this week’s fixture is another that West Brom needs to be winning if it is to escape living up to its reputation as a yo-yo club. Fulham comes up next for the Baggies after this one, so this is an excellent opportunity to win some points.
Brighton vs. West Brom Pick
West Bromwich Albion to Win+317
If Lewis Dunk was available for this game I would probably have gone for the draw. But the Brighton captain is more than just a good defender, he is also the leader of a team that could struggle without him. West Brom has the players to make the most of that and I think it could end up taking the points on Monday.
