Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Sheffield United – EPL, December 20, 2020
Both clubs will be looking at this fixture as one that they should have a good chance of winning – even if the recent results don’t really back up that claim.
Sheffield United hasn’t won a single game this season, but Brighton has only managed two victories – the last one being back in November.
Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Sheffield United Odds
It is very difficult to back the Blades to win a game at the moment, even if you think that the laws of probability dictate that there must be one coming up soon. BetOnline certainly doesn’t think it will happen on Sunday. But Brighton has hardly set the EPL alight this season, so the draw bet might be worth a go.
Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Sheffield United Match Preview
Brighton has conceded far too many goals this season, without actually giving away too many chances, so manager Graham Potter brought in Robert Sanchez to take over goalkeeping duties for the game against Fulham in the week. That finished goalless, and the Spaniard will be selected for this one too.
Scoring goals has also been a problem for the Seagulls, though – and VAR chalking off what would have been Adam Lallana’s first goal for the club against Fulham didn’t help. Brighton has played the better of these two this season, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be victorious on Sunday.
Sheffield United lost 3-2 at home to Manchester United in the week – a record eighth consecutive defeat – and remains worryingly adrift at the bottom of the league. Chris Wilder’s team didn’t play too badly, but nothing is going for the club at the moment, and it is hard to see where the season takes a turn.
Beating Brighton on Sunday would be ideal, of course. But even though Sheffield United scored more than one goal in a game for the first time this season against Manchester United, this doesn’t feel like anything really changing. It will take Brighton playing poorly for the Blades to record their first win here.
Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Sheffield United Betting Pick
Sheffield United picked up its solitary point so far this season in a home game against Fulham. The Cottagers have definitely improved since then, but it is hard to know whether the Blades have. Even so, Brighton can be very hard to back as well, and I think this could end up being a second point for the visiting team.
