Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Leicester City Betting Preview – EPL, March 6, 2021
Brendan Rodgers takes his Leicester side down to the south coast on Saturday in the hope of turning around some recent patchy form. Three points will be needed to keep above the chasing pack, hunting down a Champions League place.
Brighton will still have some relegation worries this year – but will feel that Newcastle is in deeper trouble in that regard.
Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Leicester City Odds
I’m a little surprised that BetOnline has made Brighton the favorite to win this one – even though the Seagulls are at home at the weekend. Leicester has looked tired and stretched in the last few games but is still third in the league. I think the draw or away win bets are far more interesting here.
Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Leicester City Match Analysis
Unlike most of the clubs in the EPL, Brighton has not had a midweek fixture to get over the frustration of the defeat to West Brom last Saturday. Graham Potter’s side missed two penalties in that game, but it was the disallowed free-kick strike from Lewis Dunk that really riled the Seagulls.
It was a decision that confused most people watching the game as well, but now Brighton must concentrate on the game in front of it. There are only three points between it and Fulham now – and Scott Parker’s side has greatly improved in recent weeks. I still think that Brighton should just about stay up – but it will need to win as many points from its home fixtures to help with that.
Brendan Rodgers was not happy with the single point Leicester took away from Burnley on Wednesday. But maybe he should be pleased that his team added to its tally at all, considering the number of players that were missing through injury. With influential playmakers such as James Maddison out, it was always going to be more difficult for the ones that were left.
Maddison might be available for the trip to Brighton – and that would make a huge difference to the team. Jamie Vardy has been looking a little withdrawn in the last few games, but with a creative teammate in the middle supplying him with through balls, he might have more of a chance of scoring for the first time in three weeks.
Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Leicester City Prediction and Pick
Leicester City to Win+178
Whether Leicester has Maddison available or not, I still think that there is enough talent in the Foxes squad to come away from Brighton will all three points. Brendan Rodgers has some very good young players coming through at the moment, and they will cause the home side a lot of trouble on Saturday. It might not be Leicester back to its best – but another win will consolidate that top-four spot.
