Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. France – World Cup Qualifier, March 31, 2021

If you’re betting on Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. France on Wednesday, March 31, you’ll probably be wondering one thing – can the home side upset the odds against the reigning world champions?
Ivaylo Petev’s men kicked off their WCQ campaign with a 2-2 draw against Finland last week. On the flip side, Les Blues have taken four points from a possible six so far, meaning they sit top of Group D.
Keep reading to see my Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. France prediction and pick.
Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. France Odds
There is no denying that France (1.36) is expected to dominate Bosnia & Herzegovina (8.75) on Wednesday – and the top-rated online sports betting sites obviously support that notion.
That said, Didier Deschamp’s men haven’t been overly convincing in recent games, so the attractive price for the draw (4.45) could attract some attention from the riskier bettors among us.
Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. France Preview
It’s fair to say that Petev’s men gave a good account of themselves on Matchday 1. Bosnia enjoyed the majority of possession against Finland, as well as chalking up 19 shots. But following a tight battle, the match ended 2-2.
Goals from Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanic and Servette’s Miroslav Stevanovic gave Bosnia hope, yet a second-half Teemu Pukki brace saw Finland snatch a draw.
The Dragons were also held by Costa Rica on Saturday, although they had plenty of chances to win that game, too. Following a goalless draw last time, Bosnia will undoubtedly be eager to forget about the friendly against Costa Rica and return to WCQ action.
Unfortunately, Petev’s men have failed to win any of their previous ten matches in all competitions. Worse still, they have suffered four defeats in their last six outings – conceding at least two goals on each occasion.
With France up next, another high-scoring loss is on the cards for Bosnia.

Having enjoyed great success in both European Championship qualifying and the Nations League, France looked set to take early control of WCQ Group D. Still, things haven’t exactly gone to plan.
Yes, the world champions currently find themselves two points clear at the top of Group D. But after drawing with Ukraine on Matchday 1 and finding life difficult against Kazakhstan on Sunday, France is looking far from assured.
Ukraine failed to register a single attempt on target last week, yet a Presnel Kimpembe own goal saw France draw 1-1. A Serhiy Malyi own goal helped France scrape past Kazakhstan on Sunday, with an Ousame Dembele strike making it 2-0.
Les Blues were exposed in a 2-0 friendly loss to Finland back in November but quickly bounced back with victories over Portugal and Sweden in the Nations League.
Following two iffy performances, it is clear that Deschamp’s men are struggling to settle in 2021. Still, they should be able to see off Bosnia.
My Prediction and Betting Pick
-
France to Win1.36
Ultimately, I’m expecting the reigning world champions to flex their muscles on Wednesday. With a couple of questionable displays behind them, I’m backing Les Blues to bounce back with a statement win in Sarajevo.
Following a wretched run, it feels as though Bosnia has turned a corner lately. But at the end of the day, I can’t see the Dragons fending off France.
