BIG vs. MIBR Betting Preview – Flashpoint Season 2 (November 10, 2020)

There’s little doubt that BIG is one of the top contenders for the Flashpoint Season 2 title and the squad will begin the CS:GO tournament with a clash against MIBR on Tuesday.

The Brazilians are in a weird spot right now after major changes recently and no one expects wonders against such a strong opponent.

And yet, they had some interesting matches in the past several weeks and might be better than people think. I share my thoughts on the opening match in this BIG vs. MIBR betting preview. The post includes the latest odds, my analysis of both squads, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

The CS:GO competitive scene was dominated by BIG in the summer and the team looked unstoppable at times, winning several DreamHack tournaments and other S- and A-Tier competitions in Europe. It was an excellent run that has ended in the fall, but the squad remains a powerhouse.

BIG earned a place in the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Finals recently and that would allow the team to focus on Flashpoint Season 2.

The expectations are high because BIG is probably the strongest team in the whole competition. I struggle to find any weak sides and every single member has been excellent in 2020.

The only potential issue I see is complacency. If BIG underestimates the opposition, that could lead to trouble. The first clash against MIBR will tell us a lot about the attitude of the favorites.

The last month or so has been wild for MIBR and the team went through major changes. The likes of fer, TACO, and FalleN are no longer part of the organization, as well as their coach dead. They were replaced by LUCAS1, leo_drk, and v$m.

Everyone expected problems for MIBR until the new team develops chemistry, but we saw some impressive matches. The squad beat FURIA in BLAST Premier: Fall 2020, before barely losing against strong opponents like G2 and Astralis.

The talent is obviously there and MIBR had several more weeks to improve before the start of Flashpoint Season 2. I have the feeling that the Brazilians might be one of the pleasant surprises of the upcoming competition.

I still expect a win for BIG, but MIBR took Astralis and OG to a third map recently. The Brazilians are dangerous and it’s only the first round, so their opponents might be a bit sloppy.

I believe we could very well see three maps in this one, so the price of +105 for over 2.5 is the best pick.
