BIG vs. AGO Pick – Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

| September 1, 2020 1:15 am PDT

After the disappointment at the ESL One: Cologne event, Germans BIG start their Pro League campaign with a tie against Polish side AGO.

The Poles are one of the huge underdogs at the tournament but they did manage to overcome Sprout in the ESEA MDL Grand Final to book their place at the event and will be fired up to stake a claim in this CS:GO tier.

But do they have the resources to outlast the former number one seed here?

In this post, I try to help you out with the betting angle by reviewing the odds for the matchup and sharing an in-depth account of both organizations’ recent form.

My BIG vs. AGO free pick awaits you in the end, so make sure you stick around!

BIG vs. AGO Odds

I have gone with BetOnline for this one and here is what one of the leading esports bookmakers has in store for us:

Match Winner

BIG -435
AGO +309

Maps Handicap

BIG (-1.5) -123
AGO (+1.5) -103

Maps Total

Over 2.5 +142
Under 2.5 -182

Given that AGO doesn’t regularly contest such big events it’s not a surprise to see such high odds for them.

Let’s check how both teams have been doing lately and wrap this up with my final betting prediction.

BIG Current Form

The Germans slipped down to the 4th spot in the world rankings after completely botching their ESL One: Cologne campaign.

They lost out to one of the minnows in the tournament Sprout in their opening fixture and were then outlasted by an inspired Ninjas in Pyjamas team.

That came as a big shock especially after BIG came out of the hiatus all guns blazing to clinch the summer edition of the DreamHack Open earlier in the month.

Captain tabseN and his team have not had a setback like this since they completely exploded on the scene in June and how they react here will tell us a lot about this roster’s future.

AGO Current Form

The Poles will be quite pleased with their recent performances and most notably, the way they overcame a one-round deficit in the ESEA MDL Grand Final against Sprout to clinch a place in the Pro League.

According to all the top rated CS:GO betting sites, the Poles are the biggest underdogs at the event but it would be a mistake to underestimate them.

They might still be looking to crack the Top 50 but the recent displays from AWP specialist mhL and main riflers Furlan and F1KU have been worthy of the top CS:GO tier.

The team has shown they are quite disciplined and despite they may lack the overall quality to regularly compete with the elite, they are more than capable of exploiting an opponent’s weakness if they get the chance.

BIG vs. AGO Betting Prediction and Pick

These opening fixtures in the online era of CS:GO have been quite random and I definitely feel AGO can put up a decent fight here.

The belief was what drove BIG to the top spot and their confidence was rattled hard at the ESL One: Cologne event.

They are understandably the favorite here but AGO will be itching to show their worth and with the way their key pieces have been performing lately, I feel they have a good chance to take a map here if BIG struggles to settle into the tie from the start.

The Poles proved that they can rise to the big occasions with their huge win against Sprout at the ESEA MDL Grand Final and with such high odds for a three-round game, I simply can’t pass up on the opportunity given the circumstances.
