Round 10 of the 2022 AFL season gets underway this Friday, May 20, with a tasty clash between Carlton and Sydney. We then have five matches to enjoy on Saturday before the final three showdowns on Sunday.

There are standout matchups everywhere you look on the Round 10 AFL schedule. Geelong vs. Port Adelaide is destined to be a fiery affair, while the clash between lowly North Melbourne and the high-flying Demons needs no introduction.

The first thing that stands out when you look at the Round 10 AFL odds at Betway is the North Melbourne vs. Melbourne clash. The Demons are priced at just 1.01 to beat the Kangaroos, who are priced at 15.00!

Elsewhere, Sydney, St Kilda, and Brisbane are expected to secure road wins this weekend. Geelong, Western Bulldogs, Richmond, GWS Giants, and Fremantle are all favored to win on home soil in Round 10.

The Demons are flying high atop the AFL ladder after winning all of their nine matches this year. Not only do they boast the best defensive record in the competition, but they also have the fourth-best offensive record.

Following last weekend’s 69-point thrashing at the hands of Port Adelaide, David Noble’s boys have conceded 100+ points in each of their previous five outings. They look set for another humiliating defeat this weekend.

Essendon heads into Round 10 on the back of a 58-point loss to Sydney. The Bombers have lost four of their past five matches, conceding 100+ points on three occasions.

When you look at the bigger picture, Essendon has managed to record just two wins this season. Having lost seven of their nine encounters in 2022, only two sides – North Melbourne and West Coast – are below the Bombers on the ladder.

Tom Lynch (4.1), Jack Riewoldt (3.2), and Dustin Martin (3.1) starred as Richmond racked up 117 points against the Hawks in Round 9. With Dusty back in business, the Tigers shouldn’t struggle to dispatch off-from Essendon.

It is no secret that Melbourne is on course to secure back-to-back minor premierships. However, Brisbane continues to keep pace with the Demons.

Charlie Cameron booted four goals last weekend, while Zac Bailey kicked three as Brisbane hammered Adelaide. Consequently, both players find themselves in the top ten on the 2022 Coleman Medal leaderboard.

As for the Hawks, they have lost each of their last four matches. Having also lost six of their previous seven, they are on course for another heavy defeat this weekend.

Although Carlton and Sydney are separated by just four points, I can see the Blues winning on Friday. Michael Voss’ men are on a three-match winning run and will be eager to widen the gap between them and the Swans.

All of a sudden, Port Adelaide find themselves four points behind Geelong. The Cats may be favored to beat Port this weekend, but I’m backing the in-form Power to extend their winning streak to five matches.

I’m also backing Western Bulldogs to beat Gold Coast, St Kilda to dispatch Adelaide, and GWS to see off lowly West Coast. Last but not least, third-place Fremantle shouldn’t struggle to overcome eleventh-place Collingwood.

Sydney is the marginal favorite to beat Carlton, but I’m backing the Blues. I’m also backing Port Adelaide to beat Geelong. The 2020 minor premiers have won each of their past four matches and can move level with Geelong if they win.

I recommend adding the -65.5 onto the Melbourne win, given the gulf between the Demons and North Melbourne. Similarly, I suggest adding the -30.5 handicap onto the Brisbane victory, as the Lions are on a five-game winning streak.
