Betting Preview for Jan Blachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya at UFC 259

| February 17, 2021 12:41 pm PDT

If you’re betting on Jan Blachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya at UFC 259, you are in for a big treat.

The Last Stylebender is aiming to join an exclusive club of two-weight world champions at UFC 259, scheduled for March 6, 2021, in Las Vegas. Blachowicz, meanwhile, hopes to make the first defense of his crown a successful one.

Despite being owning the strap and being the bigger man, the Prince of Cieszyn is the betting underdog in this fight. The latest betting odds for Adesanya to beat Blachowicz make him a clear favorite with the best UFC betting sites online.

Today, I’ll be looking a little closer at the odds and best bets for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya. I will also be making my betting pick for UFC 259’s light heavyweight title scrap.

But first, I’d like to open this Blachowicz vs. Adesanya betting preview with my prediction for the fight.

Who Wins Between Blachowicz vs. Adesanya

  • Israel Adesanya to Win by KO/TKO

I think it’s best not to spend too much time dissecting my betting pick for Adesanya vs. Blachowicz or my overall prediction for the fight here.

Instead, I have expanded on why gambling on Adesanya to beat Blachowicz by KO makes sense, and we’ll get to that soon.

First, let’s see where the betting value is in the odds for Adesanya vs. Blachowicz.

Latest Blachowicz vs. Adesanya Odds

Israel Adesanya to Win-275
Jan Blachowicz to Win+215

You might have noticed that I made a tiny error In the last section.

Instead of writing “in the odds for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya,” I wrote “in the odds for Adesanya vs. Blachowicz.” In a fight between a divisional champ and a contender in the UFC, the champion’s name always comes first.

But funnily enough, it felt right doing things that way because the Nigerian-Kiwi is, basically, the better fighter. While he doesn’t hold the title (yet), it won’t take long before he has gained double-champ status.

Looking at the betting line for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya above, you can see that the bookies agree. From what I have seen and heard thus far, most count the UFC middleweight titlist as their betting pick for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya.

That will not change from now until fight night.

Anyway, moving on with this Blachowicz vs. Adesanya betting preview, let’s take a look at the best bets for the scrap.

Best Blachowicz vs. Adesanya Bets for UFC 259

  • Adesanya to Win (-275)
  • Fight to End Over 2.5 Rounds (-130)
  • Adesanya to Win by KO/TKO (+120)

Adesanya’s betting odds to win are a safe wager on the UFC 259 main event. There is every chance that Izzy could standoff and simply outpoint the Pole, but his chances of knocking him out are just as high.

My Blachowicz vs. Adesanya pick is, of course, Adesanya. But if you are toying with the idea of taking up further gambling tips for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya in UFC 259’s big one, the following two make sense.

The betting odds for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya to go over 2.5 rounds are solid. I see the bout going past that mark, as Izzy will be cautious, initially, with the jump in weight.

The last of my best bets for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya is for Adesanya to win by KO/TKO. You can get plus money odds right now, but don’t expect this price to stick around for much longer.

Why Adesanya Beats Blachowicz at UFC 259

If Blachowicz wins at UFC 259, there goes Adesanya’s flawless record.

But let’s be honest; that’s not going to happen.

The chief reason why it won’t is that Izzy Adesanya is just too good for the incumbent light heavyweight champion. And while I won’t call Blachowicz a paper champ, he is up there with the weakest title holders in UFC history.

That’s not to say I dislike him because I don’t. I was delighted to see him dismantle Dominick Reyes to take the vacant strap, especially as Reyes had severely disrespected and underestimated the big man.

But Izzy won’t. He’ll have done his homework on the 37-year-old and will exploit every single hole in his armory en route to taking his belt. And if I can identify his weaknesses, let’s just say that the middleweight kingpin will have a field day.

Anyone wagering on Blachowicz needs to know that Adesanya is a nightmare matchup for him.

Not only is Stylebender one of the greatest strikers in MMA history, but his speed, movement, reflexes, distance management, setups… I could go on and on, but I’m sure you get the picture.

He’s as legit as the watermark on your $50 bill.

My quick prediction for Blachowicz vs. Adesanya is that the challenger outsmarts the champ on the feet for two rounds. In desperation, Blachowicz jumps into his trademark lead uppercut, gets slipped, and is taken out with the sickest head kick knockout you have seen since… erm… since this one, I guess.
