Korn Ferry Tour Betting Preview – 2021 LECOM Suncoast Classic Odds, Predictions and Pick

Following an 18-week layoff, the Korn Ferry Tour resumes action this week in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Those of you looking to get some money down, you came to the right place.

Several of the top betting sites have installed odds for the LECOM Suncoast Classic. It’s my job to bring you up to speed on where the value lies.

It all starts with a peek at the Korn Ferry Tour odds.

Brandon Wu is the betting favorite on the heels of winning the 2020 KFT Tour Championship and finishing T2 in the Orange County National Championship. The Stanford product sits 4th on “The 25” list despite playing in only nine events.

With that being said, it’s hard to believe anyone in this field is rolling with more confidence than Nick Hardy. Not only did Hardy Monday qualify into the Sony Open and finish T14, he Monday’ed into the Waste Management Phoenix Open and tallied a T42.

Across eight PGA Tour rounds in 2021, Nick’s scoring average is 67.5.

2021 marks the third edition of the LECOM Suncoast Classic. Mark Hubbard shot 26-under-par to win in 2019, outlasting Maverick McNealy by two shots. Both of those guys have graduated to the big stage and are in the field at The Genesis Invitational.

Andrew Novak hoisted the trophy at the Commander Course in 2020, although it’s highly unlikely that the Wofford grad gets in the mix this time around. Novak has whiffed on 12 of 16 cuts since that victory and has failed to register a single top 20.

Even with wind and rain in the forecast at Lakewood Ranch, birdies and eagles will be flying around the Commander Course. The par-72 track designed by Arnold Palmer features five par-5s and a drivable par-4.

The cut in 2020 fell at -5; 15-under-par didn’t even crack the top-25. For crying out loud, you could have shot four rounds in the 60s and wound up finishing 45th. Just some food for thought before locking in your LECOM Suncoast Classic picks.

I boasted about Nick Hardy and his sizzling form. Greyson Sigg and Taylor Montgomery are angling for their first KFT win, and both placed in the top 5 here in 2020. 

Nevertheless, I only see one man in the field who’s exempt into next week’s WGC at The Concession Golf Club (located less than four miles from Lakewood National). I only see one golfer who landed inside the top-5 in Abu Dhabi, and I certainly only see one man currently in the top 10 in the Race to Dubai standings.

Lipsky tuned up his short game this past week in Las Vegas and is locked and loaded to continue streaking. The 32-year-old Los Angeles native has registered four top-6 finishes across the globe since July, including a win on the KFT. 

So I’m not exactly going out on a limb by pegging a two-time winner on the European Tour to emerge this week. However, the following two Korn Ferry Tour picks are a little more “off the wall.”

Keep in mind – not all of the top golf sportsbooks online offer odds for top-10 and top-20 finishes.

You’re going to need to make a lot of birdies this week in order to finish inside the top 10. Cue in Brandon Harkins, a guy with 60 PGA Tour starts under his belt and a guy who just shot 61 (-11) in the final round of an Outlaw Tour event. Harkins recorded a T6 in his last start on the KFT (Orange County National Championship).

I highlighted Taylor Montgomery earlier, now I’ll showcase one of his former teammates at UNLV. Not only has Harry Hall posted back-to-back top-10s on the Korn Ferry Tour, but the Englishman made the cut at The American Express and competed in a star-studded field at the Saudi International.

I’m not a huge fan of rocking the beret, but it’s hard to nitpick any parts of Harry’s golf game.
